Reconstruction began with the construction of new schools, churches, shops and other buildings along Haskell Avenue between Third Street and Fourth Street. Northglenn continued to grow as an agricultural center during World War I until production declined due to increased competition from Denver and Aurora; however, growth resumed after the war due to new investment including oil wells discovered nearby which led to increased manufacturing activity in northglenn during the 1920s and 1930s while still keeping close ties with surrounding farms
