In 1912 Rocky Mountain News reporter Jacon Young interviewed local ranchers about their operations on what is now Northglenn Boulevard north of Interstate 25A The community has undergone several name changes over the years: Girdwood (1924), Northglen (1929), SouthGlen (1940), Parkdale (1950) and finally its current moniker - Northglenn - on February 14th 1964 According to the National Association of Counties website, "In 2000 there were 736 households out of which 30% had children under 18 living with them; 54% were married couples living together; 31% had a female householder with no husband present; 22% were non-families; 16% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older." According to the 2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report* for El Paso County,[2] the average income for a household in this county was $68,711 however this number can be higher or lower due to certain categories such as poverty which can range from $27 per capita to over $100 per capita depending on family size According to Article XI Section 9(a) of the Consolidated Laws Of Colorado[3], "No person shall be discriminated against based upon race or color in any program administered by this state government." This law applies equally to public education as it does business dealings including housing discrimination

Northglenn is a town in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is located on the county line between Denver and Arapahoe County, about 20 miles (32 km) east of downtown Denver. Northglenn was platted in 1875, after it was proposed as a site for an irrigation canal connecting Denver with Fort Collins and Cherry Creek.[1] The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census,[2] but had increased to 2,069 at the 2013 census[3]. Northglenn is part of the Rocky Mountains region. The first settler in Northglenn was George Haggerty, who arrived there in 1876. He built a log cabin on what is now Main Street and named it Haggerty's Mills. In 1881, Wm. Fenton purchased land from Haggerty and began to build what would become known as Fenton Park.[4] The community took its name from George Haggerty's mill which operated until 1915. By 1893, when prohibition made alcohol illegal throughout most of America, many residents had left for prohibition-free states such as Oregon or Nevada where drinking was not considered an integral part of society[5]. However, some local merchants still sold alcoholic beverages until that time[6]. On July 1, 1875,[7][8] Northglenn became an incorporated municipality under State law No 4 of 1865.[9][10][11] On October 15th 1897,[12], Jno Cramer became the first white person to ride a horse through town streets when he undertook a two-day journey from his farm northwest of town to attend services at First Presbyterian Church[13][14][15]. A post office called "North Glen" was established in 1895,[16][17] but declined operations because mail reached only Denver while goods arriving by train were delivered directly to NorthGlen.[18]; however mail continued to be delivered until 1918 when all outgoing mail stopped being sent because of World War I shortages. In 1912–1914 Northglenn wrestling teams participated in the Intercollegiate Western Wrestling Association (IWWA). They compiled an 8-0 record during those seasons and advanced to their next round against undefeated powerhouse Iowa Wesleyan University before losing 44–29; they also lost 57–5 in their final game that year against eventual champion Colorado College All-Americans coached by future NFL linebacker Bob Lillywhite (nowClassic Rock promoter).[19][20]: *Eddie Williams served as coach for one season
