Montrose, Colorado is a small town in the Rockies that straddles the border of Colorado and Wyoming. The population was 2,799 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Montrose Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town was platted in 1881 by J.D. Power and Company as a ranching community on the edge of what is now Weld County,Colorado. In 1907, Montrose became an incorporated town when it combined with other surrounding towns to form the City of Montrose. In 1968, it merged with neighboring Pueblo to form the current municipality of Montrose. Montrose's economy depends heavily on agriculture, particularly cattle and sheep farming; but also major employers include Atchison Topeka Junction Railroad Co., Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., and AEG Energy North America Inc.. There are also several smaller businesses including a convenience store and two churches. Montrose has a largely Republican-leaning electorate with few residents registered as Democrats or Independents; however, this may change over time due to changes in local politics or recent events in neighboring Weld County which has seen large amounts of growth in nearby Denver (the county seat). The city hosts an annual agricultural fair which draws substantial crowds from all over western Colorado every year.

The ancient Greeks used small shot called “pistol rounds” which were about the size of a modern nickel coin. These rounds were fired from bows or crossbows. Pistols had not yet been invented at this time so these round were ineffective against human targets. In 576 BC, the Persians discovered fire arrows that could be launched by an animal such as a donkey or horse. This new type of ammunition was called “archery stones” because they wereicked into position with a bowstring and then released at high speed like small rocks. In 327 BC, Aristotle discovered gunpowder which he named πτερίψινα (petreia). Gunpowder was later combined with other substances to create cannonballs which could be shot off a catapult and into battle. Cannonball sizes ranged from 3/8 inch up to 1 foot wide but only 50-60 pounds can be fired at once! It is interesting to note that until the late 1800s almost all bullets were made out of lead! Lead is scarce but it does not matter too much because lead does not corrode unlike other materials do when exposed to air or water! Bullets today are often made out of steel or brass just like swords or shotguns today!

Montrose is a small town in Montrose County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,826 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Denver–Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Montrose was John A. Sligh in 1876. He and his family built a log cabin on the banks of the Animas River. In 1912, Harry Humes started an ice cream business in Montrose and it remains one of the town's most popular attractions to this day. In 1929, JB Hunt opened his first grocery store in Montrose and it has been family-owned and operated ever since. The store became a national chain with over 350 stores throughout North America by 1963 when it merged with Kroger Stores Incorporated . In 1984, Hunting World Corporation acquired JB Hunt from Kroger for $1 billion . The KFC restaurant located on I-25 across from Keystone Lake is one of the town's most well-known tourist destinations as it served as your local "KFC" from 1954 until 1978 when that brand closed its doors after more than 40 years in operation (the last KFC location outside of Louisville Kentucky). In addition to its namesake chicken franchise restaurants around the world under various names including Kentucky Fried Chicken Worldwide Holdings Inc., China Mobile USA Holdings Co., Ltd., etc., KFC also had locations inside shopping malls throughout North America until they closed all those locations combined in early 2018 due to competitive pressure from Wendy’s Restaurants LLC . Montrose takes its name formator from US Congressman John A. Montrose who represented much of this area between 1912 through 1944 (see map). According to legend, during WWI he offered free land to any American soldier willing to swear never again speak out against war; as a result many men took up this offer which included 8 percent of all military personnel serving during WWI. The current Main Street traffic light was erected by Mrs. Jean Hardesty for her son Dan Hardesty Sr./Jr.'s 50th birthday celebration on July 15th, 1955; prior to that time there were no lights at night along Main Street because Mr. Hardesty didn't want people running into each other every time they crossed streets! One can only imagine how many present were involved Including Mrs.(Mrs.)Hardesty herself!
