In 1914, Professor Harry N. Weisman of the University of Colorado at Boulder developed a new type of lens called an "interlever." The interlever allowed for better focusing when camera lenses were combined with other optics products. This invention spawned a new industry in optical accessories and one that has thrived until the present day. Optical equipment manufacturers have produced ever-more intricate and advanced devices to improve upon the performance of their cameras and lenses. These advancements include advances in light handling, image quality, durability, as well as color reproduction. This history is chronicled through the story of two companies that have been pivotal in this industry: Lark Optics and Polaroid Camera Corporation. In 1912, Lark Optics was founded by John Hirschbeck and his brother Morris. Their company operated out of a shed on Clyffe Avenue in Louisville, Colorado Springs. The company manufactured basic photographic equipment such as cameras and film scanners while also selling advanced photo processing tools such as focusers, microscopes, iris directors, strobes and filters. Polaroid Camera Corporation was founded by Edwin Land in 1907 with the goal of developingprinted photosensitive material that could be used to create art prints using transparency technology. The company first produced black-and-white photography cartridges before moving on to colorprinting methods in 1928. Lark Optics became one of America's leading players in Optical Components Manufacturing during World War II due to its production capabilities for aircraftsights, navigational aides (like VHF/UHF radios), television receivers and more. It continued making high-quality components into the 21st century including OLED displays for smartphones

During its heyday under Harry Stone’s leadership, American OpticalCompany was one of the most successful businesses in Kentucky politics and commerce
Louisville, Colorado is a town in southern Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. The population was 3,898 at the 2010 census. It is located on the smog-filled edge of the San Juan Mountains and is bisected by State Highway 6. The community was founded in 1887 as a small ranching community named High Creek after High River to the northeast. A post office was established in 1888 and renamed Louisville after General James A. Klifford, who had commanded Union forces during the Mexican–American War. The first school opened in 1889 and served grades one through twelve. In 1901, high school students moved to what is now called Clinton Elementary School which became Louisville Junior High School when it opened in 1907. In 1949, Louisville incorporated as a city and began to grow rapidly with its new downtown district that included many businesses such as department stores Proctor & Gamble and Sears Roebuck and its first fire station which was also its municipal building until 1959 when it was replaced by a larger structure which still stands today. The population reached 10,000 by 1960 but declined due to factors such as lure of larger towns closer to Denver or Phoenix while Louisville lost some of its manufacturing jobs following deregulation of American industry during the 1970s and 1980s; however, it has since recovered somewhat with new companies moving into the downtown area including JCPenney (now Macy's), Belknap Pharmacy (now Rite Aid), KFC Worldwide (now Kentucky Fried Chicken), Nordstrom Rack (now Kohl's) and AutoZone/Dollar Tree among others In 2006, Mayor Bob Carpenter announced that he would not run for reelection due to health concerns but instead focus on developing new programs within his city government including an arts council composed of business leaders from neighborhoods around town; an urban development corporation focused on creating job opportunities for citizens locally; also becoming involved in charitable work such as providing meals for homeless people during Christmas seasons As part of Downtown revitalization plans unveiled in 2013 spearheaded by Mayor Carpenter’s successor Andy Wehrman,[1] redevelopment began affecting parts of Center Square – formerly known as “the ghetto” – giving rise to questions about whether this gentrification constituted displacement or simply more opportunity for residents looking to improve their lives within walking distance of city hall while maintaining access to services available only a few blocks away across Market Street

In 1876, four men from Louisville, Colorado founded the town of Aurora. The men were John C. Pratt, A.J. Sitton, W.H. Weems and James Bogue and their goal was to start a new life in what was then a rough and rugged location on the western edge of Colorado Territory. They named their new town after the major city in France – Paris – because they felt that it would be an attractive place for immigrants to settle and make a fresh start in this new land. Aurora quickly grew into a thriving city with a population of around 100 people in 1879 when it became the county seat of Larimer County. It was here that the first post office was established and where newspapers were published for the first time in Colorado Territory. In 1881, Aurora also became the capital of Larimer County when Denver was moved from Fort Collins to become its permanent home. The growth of Aurora led to annexation byDenver in 1902 which made it one of the largest cities in Colorado at that time. It wasn’t until 1912 that Aurora incorporated as a municipality and began to promote itself as being one of the most picturesque places on earth to live – even going so far as to erect an official logo proclaiming “Aurora is Where The Rockies Meet The World” It wasn't until 1978 when electric lighting arrived in Auroras downtown area which helped bring about a complete transformation unto this once sleepy little town with its charming small-town atmosphere During these years, many famous people have called Auroras home including astronaut Neil Armstrong who lived there during his Apollo 11 mission; actor Jeff Bridges; author Bob Woodward; golfer Tiger Woods; basketball players Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant; rocker Bruce Springsteen Today, Auroras core industry is still tourism but its economy has diversified over recent years with various other businesses such as healthcare (including two medical clinics), manufacturing (including several local companies that produce beer), mining (the town has several small mines including one currently producing gold) and real estate development (a number ofauroraspacecenters have been built nearby). Its slogan continues to be "Where The Rockies Meet The World"
Louisville was founded on the banks of the Ohio River in 1827 by James K. Polk, Sr. It became a city in 1859 and was named for General Andrew Jackson. The population of Louisville reached 223,000 by 1880. In 1907, Louisville became the first city in Colorado to be incorporated as a municipality.
