Gun chokes have been a part of American firearms history for centuries. In Louisville, Colorado, they began to be popularized in the early 1900s as a way to prevent suicide by gunshot. The first documented use of gun chokes was in 1892 when an American manufacturer named Browning patented an invention called the “Browning Automatic Rifle” which used a lever-action rifle to fire rounds automatically. The firearm had a manual safety feature that prevented the user from firing until the lever was pulled back, setting off a safety catch that ensured the weapon would not fire until it was manually reset. In 1911, inventor and entrepreneur George Poulter patented what is now known as the “Poulter Gun Choke” which became widely adopted as a means of preventing suicides with handguns. The device consisted of two metal rings that were fitted over either side of the barrel of a handgun and connected at one end by a strap. When it was tightened against the striker, it created an obstruction so that no shot could be fired without breaking free and hitting someone else catastrophically. This innovation allowed self-defensemen and women to protect themselves from suicide while still being able to shoot effectively. Gun chokes continued to be popularized through the years until their introduction into common law in 1934 following passage of federal Gun Control Law No. 3 (1933). With this new law, gun choke devices were outlawed in all 50 U.S states except for three – New York City, Los Angeles County and Honolulu – who continued to use them for self-defense purposes up until 1978 when they were finally banned nationwide due to their potential misuse and dangerousness.
There are many types of gun chokes. Some are passive and simply require the use of a finger to apply pressure against the trigger, while others are active and require an act of will or physical force to hold onto the grip. While most gun chokes can beadjusted to fit any firearm, they all share one common goal-to prevent the shooter from firing. Gun chokes come in both standard-grip and manual-grip varieties, as well as left-handed and right-handed models. Standard choke types include 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, 7-, 8- or 12 gauge stocks. Manual choke types include single action (SA), double action (DA) or revolvers with external safeties (SA/DA). Left-handed shooters often find that a lefty’s favorite type of choke is a “bipod style” choke, which installs on the stock aft of the magazine well so that cartridges fall into your hand from above rather than being stored in between your thumb and first two fingers like with a regular choked weapon. While there are many benefits to having an effective gun choke, it is important to remember thatgun chokes cannot protect you from yourself should you accidentally shoot yourself in the face with one. There are a few other places in the United States with similar histories to Louisville, Colorado. There was a gun choke law in place in Denver, Colorado from 1907 to 1912 that regulated the carrying of handguns within city limits. And there was also an ordinance in effect from 1911 to 1913 in Omaha, Nebraska which prescribed how many rounds each person could carry with them on their person and required all licensed dealers to sell only "semiautomatic pistols" with two barrels or less. These ordinances were repealed following the stock market crash of 1929.

Gun chokes have been around for many years and are still used in some forms today. In 1876, the United States made a new country called Colorado. It was part of the Transcontinental Railroad. The railroad had been built by landowner James H. Walker and his partners, who were also builders of the first transcontinental telegraph line from Missouri to Golden Gate City in California. The University of Colorado was founded in 1881 as a school for teachers and students in Denver, Colo., which then became the capital of Colorado. In 1907, the University moved to Boulder and became one of the largest public universities in the country. In 1916, when World War I began, Boulder Mayor James Bailey requested that all cities within easy distance of Denver make themselves available for military service by requisitioning their citizens’ homes and belongings. As a result, more than 1,500 people from fifty-six different towns got involved with the armed forces hysteria that swept America during World War I. Some residents did not want their town turned into an army town like others around them did; they organized protests and boycotts against what they saw as being an unconstitutional request by Mayor Bailey. The result was that few people went off to fight on opposite sides in Europe while many local businesses stayed closed because they couldn’t get enough food or munitions to help their troops without surrendering their property—an event later known as “Boulder Blitz”. The 1919 city-county merger gave Boulder city government jurisdiction over all but two blocks of its original downtown core ( bounded by 15th Street on the north side and Cherry Creek on the south) after years of wrangling between elected officials at both levels about how best to run things amid rapidly changing social trends (Militarized crime rates had plummeted since President Wilson repealed Prohibition). The resulting downtown core still functions as one big area code 801 today!
Although Louisville, Colorado was established in 1876, its history goes back much further. The city's founder, John H. Goodwin, came to the area in 1869 and began trading goods with the local ranchers. In 1893, he founded the town of White Mesa on the eastern edge of Louisville and named it for his home state of Colorado. Goodwin died in 1901, but his legacy lives on in the city's name and business district.
