With its resurgence after years of stagnation, Louisville is now one of Colorado's most vibrant cities with an impressive history dating back to 1869!

At the time of its founding, it consisted of only a few homes and a post office. In 1870, the community began to grow as settlers arrived from Indiana and other states in search of new land to settle. By 1876, Louisville had become a thriving town with a population of around 350 residents. The town continued to grow as more people came to live there and development took place throughout the late 1800s and into the early 1900s. In 1916, Louisville became an independent municipality within Colorado Territory.
