When the Longmont Riflemen’s Association was founded in 1901, they had no idea that their club would one day become one of the most influential and well-known factions in gun history. The LRA has been instrumental in helping preserve and protect Second Amendment rights throughout Colorado, and even played a role in helping to get Amendment Two passed into law. What began as a simple monthly meeting soon grew into an industry-wide affair, with members from all over the state rallying around the group to advocate for their cause. Through its years of activism and education, the LRA has helped develop some of America’s most famous rifle clubs – including the Rocky Mountain Riflemen’s Association (RMRA), the Texas Rangers NRA, and now the Longmont Riflemen’s Association (LRA). Today, membership in these organizations continues to grow Across Colorado – with more than 2,000 active members across 10 counties! And while there are many different reasons why these clubs exist –ranging from promoting patriotism to keeping firearms legal – nothing could be further from our hearts than ensuring that each member enjoys access to quality firearms training and support. So what does this all mean for gun owners in Longmont? Well, for starters, we continue to see evidence that responsible firearm ownership is key to maintaining our communities safe. This suggestsgunownershiprates vary by residence status … Black males were more likelythan other racial/ethnic groupsto owngunsaloneorincombinationwithotherweapons. This pattern was most pronouncedamong residents aged 55-64yearsold."

Longmont, Colorado is a small town in the central Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The population was 8,912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name comes from "Longhorn" and "Montgomery". The first settler in what is now Longmont was John Laughlin in 1864. He erected a cabin on the mountain near where he later built his sawmill and millrace. Laughlin also founded a school in 1868 and named it after himself, Longmont Academy Schools being opened on December 12th of that year. A post office called Longmont was established in 1872, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1902. In 1896, George Haskins platted what would become Longmont with land he had acquired from James Womack for $10,000. The city began to grow rapidly thanks to heavy industry (mining) development beginning around 1900 and continuing through World War I as Longmont became an important munitions manufacturing center for both allies and adversaries alike. In 1915, Denver-Aurora-Lakewood annexed much of Longmonts judicial district including parts of Aurora which then proclaimed themselves “Longmont” too! Longmont, Colorado is a small city located in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Weld County, Colorado. The population was 14,594 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement in what would become Longmont was made on July 16, 1876 when C.W. Post and his family came from Platteville, Wisconsin to homestead land east of Aspen on Monument Hill Road. On December 12, 1879, Post sold 2 acres (0.81 km²) of this land to Wm Hickey for $100 ($ ⇒ $ today). In 1886 Jno Fritsch settled near present day Longmont after leaving Aspen for Greeley because he could not find a job to support his family there. In 1890 Fritsch married Emma Jane White and moved into their own home on Main Street which they named "Hagie's". That same year pioneer George Armstrong Williams settled in what would be known as "Williams Valley" and started a cattle ranch there also named Hagie's Valley Ranch/Stewart Hardware Store. This area now includes parts of downtown Longmont as well as most of central Park Slope including most of New York Avenue between Broadway and 7th Streets NW. In 1906 an act was passed by the Colorado General Assembly that provided for the organization of towns within Weld County with voting rights; however no such town was organized until 1907 when Carbondale was created from portions of Arapahoe and Larimer Counties south of I-25 (later Routt County). In 1916 Carbondale voters approved becoming an incorporated city although it did not go into effect until 1918 due to lack of funding from county officials; Carbondale then became a part of Longmont according to ordinance passed by City Council on May 15th that year authorizing incorporation “for purposes hereinabove enumerated” under provisions making it necessary for the better management and regulation thereof” On November 10th 1912 two men Namely Wm Hickey & Harry Walters established The Dairy store at 4200 South Capitol Ave., Brush Creek Village No 1 (now Highland Village), Brush Creek Township No 1 When Butterick opened their grocery store at 6109 South Capitol Avenue in 1924 it became one stop for farmers looking for items close to home including haystacks filled with fresh milk products as well as eggs, butter, flour, salt pork etc... It remained open until 1984 when its ownership changed hands again and it closed down entirely due to financial difficulty just days after Thanksgiving eve 1984
