The first chief executive officer (CEO)ofLittletonwasJohn Fenton who served from 1923 to 1927 after serving as mayor pro tempore from 1920 to 1922;Fenton was succeeded by Harry Gamble who held office until 1933 when he was replaced by Franklin Heston whose term ended in 1938 due to World War II service;Heston was succeeded by Virgil Peterson who held office until 1949 when he resigned effective date due to health reasons; Peterson was succeeded by Maynard Sheafferwho served until 1953 when he resigned effective date due to death within two weeks prior theretoquelling all active political involvement withinthe municipality; finally, William Ewing served until 1960 when he resigned effective date following election results showing him losing handily against future candidate Clifford Olson
