Littleton is a town in Coryell County, Colorado, United States. The population was 9,983 at the 2010 census. Littleton is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to enter what is now Littleton were led by Captain James A. Fenton on his horse Big Ear in 1824. Fenton's group discovered gold and silver deposits in the area and named the region "Granite Park". Starting in 1829, prospectors began moving into what is now Littleton from all over Western Colorado to find more gold and silver mines. By 1837, most of Littleton had been platted as a town and it became one of the most important economic centers in Western Colorado because of its location near two major railroads: the Rocky Mountains Railroad and the Santa Fe Railway. In 1862, when Fort Sumter was destroyed by Confederate forces during the American Civil War, much of western Colorado came under Union control including Littleton. On November 11, 1862, Union General George Armstrong Custer arrived at campgrounds northwest of present day Littleton on his way south to join Ulysses S. Grant's Army of Montana at Butte River Junction (now Bozeman). When he realized that there was no fortification available to stop an attack on Fort Sumter from happening he ordered his army forward without waiting for orders from higher up about how many men should go into battle On January 1st 1865 little did we know that our little town would be such a big target for Confederate forces coming down from Keystone Creek Valley looking for food supplies for their general Robert E Lee’s army marching through our area also looking for gold fields further east . As things turned out only 10 people including my father who went along with us on horseback got away safely with any goods they could carry before being surrounded by Confederate cavalry some 7 miles inside our town limits trying to capture or kill everyone even my father managed to get away alive but 3 others including myself were captured or killed outright which left me young manhood number 4

Littleton, Colorado is a small town located in Weld County, Colorado. The population was 3,854 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pueblo-La Jolla Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in Littleton were the Hahns and their families who came from Germany in 1879. They founded a log cabin on what is now Main Street. In 1887, Lillie Sorenson moved to Littleton and began teaching school. She became known for her baking goods which she sold through her home or at local businesses. In 1888, Gertrude Sorenson married John Wirth who also lived in Littleton then operated an editing business called The Beacon Press until his death in 1984. In 1903, Willard Hennepin opened the first grocery store in Topeka, Kansas and served as Littleton's first mayor from 1903-1905 when he was succeeded by James Kappes Jr.. In 1916, coal mining began operations here and quickly led to increased traffic on Main Street which necessitated the construction of several buildings including the First National Bank Building (now part of First Amendment Media), Forbes Hall (now an office building), and Victory Park (now a park). The town's growth continued with later additions such as West Side Plaza (later renamed after Count Basile Drive) and North Side Plaza which included large shopping malls that remain today including Sears Craftsman/JCPenney/Macy's/Babysitting World locations inside Northside Plaza as well as smaller stores within South Side Plaza. Today there are over 100 businesses operating within Littleton limits making it one of Colorado's most vibrant communities with excellent access to cultural attractions such as Old Town Denverites' weekly market downtown or Pikes Peak Brewing Company which is located just outside the town limits on I-25 Exit 231A near Golden State Boulevard). To date there have been no major renovations or replacements needed to many of these structures since they were built over many years ago resulting in them remaining structurally sound and testimony to how muchLittleton has grown since its incorporation into our state over 60 years ago!
