Rockefeller, two businessmen who were looking for a new home to build their railroad empire out of. The city was originally named Westwood because it was one mile west of where the current downtown is today. In 1881, Littleton became an incorporated municipality and changed its name to Littleton Village after founder John A. Macdonald's proposal that all streets be given names that honored local towns or villages in centralColorado across the state line- this idea being brought to fruition by John Fenton Postell who also served as mayor at the time. The Early Years: 1865-1881 In 1865, John D. Rockefeller and James D. Rockefeller started building what would become known as The Carpathia Railway Company which connected Denver with Fort Collins via Calgary, Alberta (now Calgary). This helped start what would eventually be called the Rocky Mountains Development Company which invested in land throughout Colorado and portions of Wyoming Territory for future growth within those states and beyond- something that continued until 1912 when Interstate 70 was built through most of these regions connecting them together like never before! From 1866-1868, Littleton had its own school system which operated underprivileged children from rural areas receive free education from Prairie View A&M University (later Texas A&M University) on Harvests Hill Road near present day Denver Avenue due to financial difficulties experienced by parent company Standard Oil during Reconstruction Era days following American Civil War! In 1868, Mayor Postell appointed Moses Greene clerk payable stamps departmental storekeeper & postmaster & treasurer public works department providing essential services necessary for running our town while still meeting expenses including clothing & groceries for our citizens! By 1870/71 we had completed 2 miles of street paving including 3 blocks long Main Street starting at 15th Ave then turning left going east then right back crossing Cherry Creek on 10th Ave just south off I-70 before terminating at 16th St NW so now main street extended along creek banks all around town making it easy walkable even during rainstorms or snowstorms without fear of getting lost! Although our schools did not initially offer high grades or excellent teaching methods typical today but they did provide basic instruction needed for everyday life such as reading English language books etcetera early students were forced into trades such as tailorsmithing/ carpentry/farming etcetera doing whatever it took to get an education despite poor health conditions caused by poverty combined with lack thereofback then
