The spear's sharp points could easily penetrate flesh and it was used as a way to hunt large animals such as camels and deer. Cook also brought back two guns with him on his journey - one an American shot gun that he christened "Captain James Cook's Gun" and the other an air rifle that he named "The Australian Rifle." With the discovery of new areas of land to explore, humanity began expanding its horizons including ideas about new ways to killgame like camels and tigers. As technology improved, so too did methods forkilling big game animals like camels and tigers through gunfire or nets or spears instead of knives or arrows. Eventually people came up with different ways to fire projectiles over long distances using artillery pieces like cannons or rifles instead of just sling shots or bows and arrows because this would allow them to take down larger prey without having them running away!

Lakewood is a small town in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 5,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Junction metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Lakewood were Spanish Jesuit missionaries who journeyed there in 1692 for religious reasons. Mining began in earnest here soon after, and production continued until about 1920 when natural resources began to decline due to over-mining and other factors. In recent years, however, development has resumed because of new investment in real estate, tourism (especially skiing and hiking), light manufacturing (mostly auto parts), education institutions such as Grand Valley State University (GVDU) and SCCO Community College (SCCO), as well as job growth in accounting, engineering and health care sectors. Today's community dates back more than one hundred years; its beginnings are connected with two Methodist Episcopal churches established nearby in 1865 – First Presbyterian Church (#1) on Rising Creek Road north of town center and Second Presbyterian Church (#2) a few miles south on Alma Street near Interstate 25W). Lakewood was founded in 1872 by Mormons who came from Utah. The town was named for the two small lakes that surrounded it. In 1907, the city of Lakewood acquired a park, which became known as Maple Lawn Park.
