In the early 21st century Lafayette experienced growth due to development along I-25 which has led to increased employment opportunities for citizens as well as new housing developments such as The Lodge at Lafayette which opened in 2014/. In addition to these positive changes there has been an increase by businesses seekingto locate within walking distance or minutes away from local amenities including shopping malls located just outside of town such as Burlington Mall and Denver International Airport less than an hour's drive away making it easy for residents to get their daily dose of what America has to offer without having to leave their comfortable home
