The Greenwood Rifle and Pistol Club was organized in the early 1800s in Greenwood, Colorado. The club was originally a hunting group that used rifles and pistols to hunt deer and other game. In the late 1800s, the club made the switch to using shotguns for shooting competition. The club has been active ever since. In 1907, Greenwood became an incorporated town within the Denver metropolitan area. As part of this incorporation, the city council passed a resolution asking the NRA to provide "a pistol range and rifle range at which members of Greenwood can practice their firearms." NRA President James J. Dunn responded by providing financial support for both ranges. In 1912, Greenwood also voted to become an official member state of the NRA. Today, there are three NRA ranges located in Greenwood: one for handguns (Greensboro Range), one for rifles (Denver Range), and one for shotguns (Greenwood Range). These ranges offer instruction to all interested individuals from beginner through experienced shooters. Additionally, each range offers special events such as matches or clinics that promote safety and muzzle-loading skills among gun enthusiasts of all levels!

Greenwood, Colorado is a small town located in the Sawatch Range of the Rocky Mountains. The population was 9,561 at the 2010 census. Greenwood is part of the Gunnison County seat and is bordered to the north by Scrubbs Creek and to the east by Garden City. The first people to live in what is now Greenwood were Native Americans who hunted and gathered game in the area. The first white person to come to Greenwood was Capt. John A. Logan, who arrived on July 17, 1876, while exploring Fort Lyon near Clearwater Lake. He named his new settlement Logan's Ferry after himself and built a ferry across Scrubbs Creek for transportation between his rancho (land grant) and Fort Lyon. When gold was found in nearby Telluride on October 16, 1885, Greenwood became one of the most active mining towns in western Colorado because it had access to good ore veins that were not accessible by other towns or ranches. The town started out as a small farming community with about seventy-five residents when gold was discovered; within six months it had become one of the largest gold centers in Colorado Springs because so many people came from all over Western Colorado to assay and extract gold from prospecting claims. The town continued its growth until World War II when it declined due to lack of natural resources (mainly coal) and competition from other Gold Rush Towns such as Aspen, Steamboat Springs, Telluride, Golden etc.. However, since then Greenwood has bounced back several times including becoming an important center for research into green energy technologies such as solar energy systems and wind power systems due to its location close to two major universities: CU-Boulder which operates Brown’s School of Engineering & Applied Science (BSES), one of only twelve schools worldwide accredited by American Board of Technology (ABT); and US Geological Survey’s Rocky Mountain Mineral District office which oversees mineral exploration throughout much of western Colorado including parts of Gunnison County bordering Greenwood Canyon National Park where large uranium deposits have been found In recent years there has been significant development taking place around town including: 1) A new high school building completed in 2009 which replaced an aging facility; 2) A $24 million dollar project announced in 2011 that will create approximately 100 jobs creating/modernizing infrastructure within theme park style amusement park called "Greenwood Village"; 3) Plans are underway for another high school campus addition that could bring up to 200 additional students onto downtown streets; 4) A $4 million dollar redevelopment project announced last year that includes new housing developments on both sides of Woodward Avenue between 6th Street South & 7th Street North; 5) Revival efforts launched recently targeting use/destruction/recreation/restoration/ refurbishment/replacement clothing store called "Rabbit Hole" inside historic First Presbyterian Church adjacent thereto renamed Hope Chapel following congregation's decision last September not To Reopen After More than thirty Years Of Operation

Greenwood is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 592 at the 2010 census. Greenwood is located on the east bank of the Animas River, northwest of Pueblo. The first permanent settlers in what is now Greenwood were families who arrived in 1876 from Illinois. They named their new settlement after General Francis Egan's victory over Mexican forces at the Battle of Buena Vista Creek on October 20, 1876. The community began to grow rapidly during the late 1800s as thousands of new people moved into the area to make their fortunes in mining and farming. Businesses such as saloons and grocery stores became popular among residents and newcomers alike. In 1907, Greenwood was incorporated as a village; it became an incorporated city in 1912. It has since been renamed several times, including Greenburg in 1970; Greeley City in 2001; and finally Greenwood (Colorado) on July 24, 2010
Greenwood was founded in 1876 by three men, including George Greenwood and W. A. Hurlbut, both of whom were born in neighboring Clear Creek County. The town grew quickly, and by 1886 it had a population of 350 residents. In 1898, Greenwood became the county seat of Rio Grande County when that area was divided between the two counties. The growth of the city led to its incorporation as a city on November 3, 1911.
