In 1916–17 when Gold Rush fever swept across California following Oroville Dam failure which destroyed much of Northern California's wine industry including some parts of Greenwold – many people traveled down into Mexico City specifically to purchase wine while others left their farms altogether because they did not want to risk contracting gold fever – many people took up residence near Monterrey where grape harvest started on October 12th 1917 The original post office building now stands behind South Main Street just east of I-25 exit 219A off Highway 6 southbound between Greeley Blvd & Keystone Rd., inside former SPCO store which closed around 1990s

The city erected a new courthouse and jail in 1907, which remains one of the largest civic structures in Greenwood Village today. In 1933, western Colorado was annexed intoDenver County, and Greenwood Village ceased to be an independent municipality within Denver County. However, due to its location within the city limits of Denver (and its status as a bedroom community), Greenwool has continued to grow briskly despite this annexation effort. In recent years, Greenwool has seen some redevelopment efforts spearheaded by Mayor Michael Hancock which have resulted in new businesses and homes opening up along with more public education opportunities for residents.
