Greeley is a town in Arapahoe County, Colorado, United States. The population was 9,663 at the 2010 census. Greeley is the most populous municipality in Arapahoe County and one of its three county seats. It is bordered by Asotin to the east, Fort Collins to the north and northeast, Loveland to the west and south, and Longmont to the east. The downtown area is home to several museums including The Newton Museum of Art and The Greeley Art Museum. In addition to its popular tourist attractions such as Rocky Mountain National Park, Greely has a diverse economy including pharmaceuticals production (Teva Pharmaceuticals), real estate development (The Wachovia Company), manufacturing (Bosch GmbH & Co., Ltd.), retail support services (PepsiCo), professional sports teams (Colorado Rockies baseball team) and education institutions including CU Denver and Northern State Community College.

Greeley is located on the eastern edge of Rocky Mountain National Park and has a humid continental climate (Köppen climate classification "Dfb"), typical of most of Weld County in east-central Colorado. The first Europeans to visit Greeley were fur traders from Fort Walsh in 1804. After they left, other travelers passed through and named it after George Washington's home at Mount Vernon, Virginia: Bridgwater in 1810; Gouverneur Kiefer's Greenbrae in 1811; John Hennepin's agencytownsite near what is now the University of Northern Colorado in 1865; and finally Greeley Township in 1872. A post office called Greeley was established in 1873, and remained open until 1907. The present name comes from Jameson Earle Greeley, brother of Ulysses S. Grant and one-time Mayor of New York City (1885-1887). In 1896, two brothers founded an insurance company with their father as president. They changed their name to American Trust Company when they opened an office on Main Street. One example of early business activity can be found when local merchants built a flour mill on the same spot that still stands today as mills No. 1 & 2—the original brick buildings arenow part of UNCG’s Engineering Building (formerly known as The Students’ Union). In 1909–1910 three residents organized a school district which became Pueblo School District #1 before annexing South Denver School District #2 in 1912; these districts merged into Pueblo School District #1 again effective January 1, 1975 Pueblo Schools also partnered with CU Denver for educational services starting fall 1999 providing pre-kindergarten through 12th grade education across six sites including North Campus#3 at Broadway and Quebec Streets NW corner Peoria Avenue] until September 2006 under contract with Denver Public Schools

Greeley was founded in 1871 by John H. Greeley and named for him. Greeley is a town located in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 17,566 at the 2010 census. Greeley is the county seat of Weld County. The city of Greeley is the most populous municipality within Weld County and the second-largest city in Colorado after Denver. The first settlers to what is now Greeley were men from Lancaster, England who arrived in wagon trains during the Fremont Gold Rush of 1849. They followed trails into present-day Weld County and discovered gold near where Lyons Creek flow into the North Fork San Juan River. The miners brought new life to what had been an agricultural area with potatoes, corn, wheat, butter, cheese and other goods being sold on street corners throughout downtown Greeley as early as 1858. In 1861, when Colorado became a state following California's admission to that Union two years earlier, George Aiken donated land east of downtown for a courthouse square which would eventually become central business district of Greeley. In 1870 John H., brother of entrepreneur Andrew Carnegie and cousin of future president James K.'s wife Carrie Chapman Catt visited America from Scotland on his way home after completing his construction work on Carnegies Railway across Canada (Carnegie helped finance this venture). Upon landing at Buffalo Bayou near Fort Worth he began exploring opportunities for sites for a new town in western Colorado but did not find suitable sites until he traveled downslope toward Pueblo where he met local farmers appealing to him to come visit their settlements there about creating "a marketable place". He chose Pueblo because it offered potential access by water to mines around Leadville while also having good soil health so that crops could be grown without frost or pests; these factors would later contribute toPueblo's success as a commercial center during the late 19th century following its incorporation as a municipality in 1896). This trip led him back upriver along Buffalo Bayou where he again encountered farmers appealing to him about establishing a marketable place; this time he chose Trinidad over Pueblo due its availability on both sides of Clear Creek then called "the Great Watercourse" because it had more open space than any other location along that creek leading directly into Telluride Basin mineral fields operated by prominent gentlemen such as General Francisco Miranda and judge Isaac Noyes – all people who would go onto make significant contributions toColorado's economic development during the Progressive Era (see also Indian Removal Crisis)). He finally found suitable sites northeast of Trinidad when surveyed by John Wesley Powell hiking through present-day El Paso County on his way downstream from Aspen towards Lake Mead; these discoveries led ultimately to creation of Mesa Verde National Monument including what are today several townships including Grand Mesa Village near Alamosa Springs while others lay adjacent such as Evansville east off I-25 between Canon City and Englewood Cliffs while still others lie just northward including Steamboat Flats southeast off Ute Mountain between Fruita and Arvada). After visiting many locations throughout western Colorado among them Keystone Lake then upstream at Placerville before returning downriver along Buffalo Bayou reaching Trinidad he decided upon what would become known today as downtown Greelee – an area bounded by Third Street south/west corner Griggs Avenue east/north corner Sheridan Drive northeast corner First Street northwest corner Capitol Hill Drive with 700 feet (190 m) frontage width bordering Onalaska Creek inside limits -this site was originally part of Rancho Santa Ana de la Frontera Mexican land grant given by Padre Isidro Lopez de Mendizabal ceded jointly by Mexico City Governor José Joaquín Cuellar y Vargas et al.. It should be noted that even though much has changed since Mr H.'s original settlement - especially Downtown Greeleys nickname "The Gilded Age Capital Of The World" due mainly to its position atop major trade routes running through town - much remains unchanged about those early days reflecting attitudes prevalent throughout much of America at that time regarding frontier values like independence from government control combined with unbridled speculation resulting in fabulous wealth being created largely thanks largely theretofore unknown natural resources like coalitions formed between various regional banking interests headed up respectively by Nathan Mitchell & David Rockefeller & partners etc.) prior + ensuing waves OF European immigration increasing social tensions culminating primarily via Manifest Destiny expectations Ultimately causing great pain & suffering particularly thru WWI specifically American entry into WWI which devastated entire continent ↑
Greeley was founded in 1864 by John C. Fremont and named after the place where he had been born. The first residents of Greeley were farmers, but the town grew rapidly when a railroad was built through it in 1868. In 1875, Greeley became an official city and adopted a new constitution. In 1907, Greeley hosted the world's first commercial air show, which was also the first time that airplanes had been allowed to be used in Colorado.
