By 1907, Greeley had a population of over 50,000 and it was designated as the capital of Colorado. In 1912, Greeley became the first city in Colorado to have electric lights and streetcars. Today, Greeley is known for its arts and culture scene and its role as a hub for education and business in south-central Colorado.
