In August 2007, Grand Junction hosted world stage for "The X Factor". The show aired live from studios in downtown Grand Junction with various acts performing live throughout the evening including John Mayer and Weezer among others In 2013-14 season there are several new projects being developed by city government & private companies like: 1) $150 million renovation project for City Hall - This will include replacement of all interior doors/windows along withALL lighting & sound systems inside building; 2) $15 million dollar project for Main Street – This will include reconstruction of sidewalks & streetlights; 3) New Park - This will be an 8 acre park adjacent to City Hall which will feature tennis courts synthetic turf fields etc.; 4) Expansion for Northside Mall - A new shopping center has been planned which would anchor what is now Sanger Avenue east side plaza between First Avenue South & Naylor Drive
