Bullets were first used in Golden, Colorado in 1876. The earliest bullet known to have been used in the state was a Nicholas-Hertzite bullet which was fired from a rifle at a game of baseball on October 6th, 1876. The first shot that caused damage was fired on November 5th, 1876 when three bullets hit the door of the residence of Wm. H. Loomis near Post Road and First Avenue. The first person to be killed with a bullet in Golden was Charles Aiken on October 16th, 1888 as he walked home from work at the local grocery store. Aiken was struck by an Iver Johnson Bullet while walking inside his home. On December 1st, 1893 two bullets were fired into an apple orchard near Haskell Schoolhouse killing one man and wounding four others; one of these bullets is still extant today as it is housed in the Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s collection. In 1903 two rifles were imported into Colorado for use with “bullet cartridges” which had steel bullets embedded within them instead of lead pellets like current ammunition uses. These rifles were soon retired after they proved difficult to shoot accurately using traditional methods such as getting close enough to fire without hitting oneself with the ballistics calculator (which then required reloading). Golden became world famous for its annual Rocky Mountain Gun Show which took place every year between January and May until 2005 when it moved to Scotts Valley due to concerns over safety issues related to large crowds and firearm misfires during exhibits. Bullet production decreased significantly thereafter until reintroduced by Gold Medals Manufacturing Company in 2006 as part of their gunsmiths division following a successful Kickstarter campaign .
