In 1978, it became an incorporated town with full voting rights under Colorado law; it has since trimmed its government to a single branch - Mayor/Council - but remains one of the most densely populated towns in southeastern Colorado. One of the most notable attractions near Fruita are two mountain ranges: The Animas Range and the San Isabel Range. These mountains offer stunning views of both downtown Denver and Medicine Bow National Forest to anyone looking out their window or taking a hike up one of their peaks during summertime; they can be reached by following Ute Creek down into Clear Creek County or hiking all the way up from Englewood Cliffs on Longmont Mountain between July and September (see map below). The industry declined during World War I but recommenced during World War II when new irrigation technology came online that helped produce more crops than ever before while at the same time reducing costs associated with traditional farming methods such as water usage and pesticide use which had caused mass extinctions of many species of wildlife including Wasp-like flying ants that used to be abundant near fruita's riverside vineyards These days there are still some remnant industries related to agriculture such as packinghouses for processed fruits & vegetables or livestock feed production However overall most people here are engaged in various light industrial activities providing jobs for about 60% of the population which is much higher than average rates throughout western Colorado Today we have two primary types of businesses: retail outlets focused on groceries/foodservice and office space used by many different types of businesses like cafes/restaurants/apartments etc., most notably Amazon who has leased over 50 acres within city limits since they moved into their current building back in 2012 This growing downtown core is becoming increasingly home-grown with several restaurants following suit ie: G&G Grille, Cowboy Ranches BBQ & Grill,BLT Ranch & Pub), ecco Coffee & Tea House (owned by ranchers), Hi-Tech Cafe (owned by an entrepreneur) In terms of Employment growth over recent years our largest employer has been Amazon whose presence has led to increased development around them including new housing developments adjacent To their HQ just south Of town along US Highway 160 - this also includes several smaller job centers scattered throughout town giving access to various skillsets like web design, graphic design etc., without having to leave your living quarters

Fruita was founded in 1865 as a small farming community on the banks of the Unza River. The town grew rapidly due to its location and its access to water supplies. By 1887, Fruita had a post office, library, and school. In 1951, Fruita became an incorporated municipality. In 1984, the city annexed the neighboring town of Arvada.
