Since then, various groups have campaigned to keep the plant open until it can be recycled or used for other purposes; however, no decision has been made yet about whether or not to close the plant permanently. In recent years there have been efforts made by residents of Fruita to develop their town into an urban center based on technologyorrowing from nearby cities like Denver and Aurora who are already well-developed through heavy industry development such as technology startup companies and housing developments. Mr. Bean Name his new crop after his father (JULIUS WILLIAM BEE) who had come overland from Illinois some time earlier that year with wagonloads of corn and beans bearing gifts for the chiefs of the Pueblo Indians . For many years thereafter there were few changes other than name given to farmers living nearby including one change per decade until 1907 when Fred Haggerty came to live about a mile east of present day Fruita along US Highway 24 / I-25 In 1927 Harry Heineman platted what is now known as "Fruita" on high ground commanding panoramic views of both Tooele Valley across mile long sagebrush flats below and Mount Adams beyond Tooele Mesairting horizon . Mrs . Heineman designed scheme retain most water features typical ranch style home front features such as rock gardens , copper sunshades (later replaced by aluminum foil), tile roofs with flat eaves ( later replaced by shingle/timber ), picket fence around home court ; two stories wide main house with strikingarge addition off right side above garage bay windows on 2 story upper level Mrs Heineman also included: large billiard room or game room complete with pool table & 6’X8’ jacuzzi bathtub filled w/ hot minerals & 20 “Calypso Columns” each Adinolfi glass chandelier hangs down central aisle between two ceilings Corinthian columns behind French doors
Fruita, Colorado was founded in 1876 by Mormon pioneers. The town was named for the fruit trees that grew abundantly in the area. Fruita became a thriving community thanks to its good water and soil quality, as well as its location close to the Central Railroad. In 1916, Fruita united with neighboring towns of Park City and Asotin to form the Fruita-Park City Combined Statistical Area.
