Fountain is a small town in Grand County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. Fountain is located on the eastern edge of the Navajo Nation and is bordered by Pueblo to the north, Arapaho and Navajo reservations to the east, and Douglas County to the south. The name "Fountain" comes from both its location near Animas River and its namesake: a stream that drains into it at Fountain Valley. Roosevelt visited Fountain during his Hundred Days Tour; he spoke about Conservation efforts being undertaken throughout America during his time in office and urged citizens to support these efforts by voting for conservation candidate Adlai Stevenson II. After Roosevelt's visit fountain experienced some growth with new business opening up such as a grocery store and restaurant followed by another clothing store shortly thereafter before finally becoming an event center which has remained operational ever since with several expansions including more housing units over time .
