In 1949-50 local businessmen formed a committee which submitted plans for developing what would become downtown Fort Collins; this committee recommended building a large shopping mall which would occupy much of what is now DowntownBusiness District #1A today! By 1957-58 construction had completed on what would become First National Bank Building #2B – one of only two buildings still standing from that era! This structure served as headquarters for many years for both Ft Collins Chamber Of Commerce (now known as The Business District) and later Forrester Industries Incorporated (now UTC Aerospace Systems). Today First National Bank Building #2B remains a popular tourist destination due to its unique architecture and History!
