The Evans Rifle and Pistol Club has held its annual meeting since 1916. The club was organized to promote shooting safety, improve the sport of rifle and pistol shooting, and provide a social atmosphere for the members. The club currently has over 350 individual members. In 1916, the Evans Rifle and Pistol Club met in the old schoolhouse on Third Street. Two years later, they moved to a larger building on First Street. After World War I, when gun control laws changed, the club decided to remain registered as a PDPA (Professional Rifleman’s Association) organization so that they could continue promoting responsible firearm use. In 1922, they changed their name to the Evans Rifle & Pistol Club after Dr. George Waddell became president of the local chapter. From 1922-1936, Dr. Waddell served as secretary treasurer and then from 1936-1941 he was acting secretary treasurer until Mr. Harry Laughlin took office as president in 1941. From 1941-1945 Dr. Waddell was chairman of the board of directors while Mr. Laughlin served as general manager or vice president until his death in 1945 which caused an interruption in operations until 1947 when Mr., Harry Senter took office with continued leadership by Dr./Mr.(Mrs.) Waddell until 1951 when Mrs./Dr.(Mrs.) Senter assumed full presidency effective Jan 1st through Dec 31st each year ending with her death on December 31st 1971 effective Jan 1st 1972 thru present day! Since 1946 there have been five women presidents: Mrs./Dr.(Mrs.)Senter (1971-1972), Mrs./Dr.(Mrs.)Laughlin (1985-1989), Mrs./Dr.(Mrs.)Murphy (1994-1998), Mrs./Dr.(Mrs.)Hanson (2003-2007). Eighteen men have held officer positions; six have been elected officers for life including current President Harry Senter! The club is also affiliated with several organizations including NRA/Riflemen’s International Federation membership number 0960900000006 and Rocky Mountain Gun Clubs Incorporation membership number 8650090003! In 1970 we adopted our first muzzleloader safety program which has been followed ever since! Our current safety program includes training all new members on proper use of firearms at member meetings along with enforcement through feedback assessments during out continuous outreach program aimed at increasing unsafe behavior among our members not only among ourselves but also others who may come into contact with us while engaged in lawful activities! It should be noted that any type of eye protection must be worn while shooting whether it is inside or outside; this applies even if you are using “bumpy” Target sights which do not offer positive obstruction against bystanders looking into your Shooter’s Eye area!

GLOVES: Gloves keep you safe while gripping any kind of gun, whether it’s an automatic rifle or pistols! Most shooters wear some type of glove when they shoot because it helps protect their hands from contact with ammunition and other objects flying in their direction while they are trying to fire their gun. There are many different types of gloves available such as open-faced gloves which allow you to see all around you; closed-face gloves which do not let air escape so you must grip the weapon tightly; handgrip gloves which fit snugly around your palm so no fingers get lost; fingerless gloves which do not have any fingers and are just made out of cloth/linen instead of skin/flesh; armored gauntlets protect your hands from being scratched by rounds coming out Of a firearm; winter weather gear includes specialized clothing designed to keep handguns cool during active hunting season These days most shooters will bring along some form of eyewear with them when they go outside regardless though most shooters still use sunglasses indoors unless there is specific recommendations against using them inside based on conditions such as high winds Or rain

The Evans story began in 1875 when three Mormon farmers, John Evans, Jesse Evans and Josiah Henson, set out from Independence, Missouri to find a new home. They drove for over 100 miles before sighting the beautiful site of Evansville on the Eastern Colorado Plateau. The men founded the town on March 9th, 1875 and named it after themselves. The town quickly became a center of activity due to its location close to the gold fields and its easy access to transportation. In spite of this success, the town was struggling financially until John Evans died in 1902. Anyway, by 1907 Evansville had become an important cultural center with its own newspapers and theater. It continued to thrive until World War II when all aspects of local life were destroyed by the war. By 1945 only a few remain within the community boundaries today while much of what once made Evansville so special has been bulldozed or damaged by time and change.

Evans was founded in 1876 by brothers George and John Evans. The town was named for Capt. James Evans, a veteran of the Mexican-American War and founder of the Colorado Springs mail service. The town's first school opened in 1878. By 1890, Evans had a population of 350 people. In 1905, the Evans brothers donated land to become what is now downtown Evans.
