Evans is a small town in the Cheyenne County, Colorado, United States. The population was 2,827 at the 2010 census. Evans is located in the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains and is bordered by Arapahoe County to the north, Douglas County to the east, and Larimer County to the south. The first Europeans to visit Evans were Spanish traders in 1764. The first permanent settler in Evans was John McLaughlin who arrived in 1789. In 1834, Edwin Evans became owner of a piece of land that included present-day Evans on which he built his home and store. The community started off as a small farming community with only 10 residents. By 1860, most of present-day Evans had been born or died within its boundaries. In 1877, JF McClain donated land for a public school which would Eventually become Pueblo High School (now known as Morrison High School). In 1907, David Hinkle purchased 320 acres northeast of present-day Evans from Edwin Evans and began developing it into what is now called Hinkle Parkland Preserve. This area includes much of what is today known as downtown Evan

He has been instrumental in creating several iconic companies such as Adobe Systems, Apple Inc., Amazon Web Services and Intel Xeon processors!

The first post office in Evans was established in 1876, and the first store was built in 1881.
