Gun magazines have a long and varied history in Erie, Colorado. In 1875, the first gun magazine in the area was started by J.F. Holbrook and C.H. Cook at their home on Main Street. The magazine was called the Western Gunsmith and it published three issues per month until 1876 when it moved to its current location on Ninth Street. The first issue of the modern-day Erie Magazine was published in 1903 and lasted for six months before being discontinued due to low circulation. From 1907-1911, local gunsmiths Harry Easley and George Witherspoon operated two weekly gun magazines called The Rifleman and The Shotgunman which were also published in Erie but were much more popular than the modern-day Erie Magazine. From 1912-1920, local paper vendor Harry Pope ran a gun magazine store on Second Avenue which became very successful with over seventy issues created between 1912-1920 alone! In 1927, John Fenton opened his owngun store on Third Avenue which quickly became very successful with over fifty issues created between 1927-1929 alone! In 1938, Easton Arms Manufacturing Corporation began production of pistols in Erie under the name “Erie Firearms” which remained operational until 1945 when they were merged into Colt Corporation’s pistol business! From 1944-1945, local armourer/gunsmith Don Hickey operated a small firearm shop located within Stroudsburg limits that produced approximately eighty firearms annually! During World War II, many machineguns were made in Erie by various manufacturers such as Browning Arsenal (BAR), Colt Manufacturing Company (PISTOLS) and Sturm Ruger & Co., Incorporated (Rifle MACHINES)! After World War II ended, many of these guns were sold off or melted down for use in post war reconstruction efforts! Since the late 1800s there have been numerous changes to how handguns are manufactured including blowback systems (1895), all metal receivers (1912), gasoperated pistols with manual safeties (1933), selfloading rifles with extractors (1939), semiautomatic pistols with strikerfired Hammerless Pistols (.40 S&W caliber) beginning 1949 (!!!! ), assault weapons starting 1968 (!!!! ), Glock handgun models from 1984 (>=1999!), Heckler & Koch G10 handgun models from 1990 (>=1998)), Beretta 9mm handgun models beginning 1997 (&<1998.), Smith & Wesson Model 6 revolver models beginning 2000 (&<1996)), Sig Sauer P239 handgun modelbeginning 2006 (<2004). All of this change has led to an interesting mix of historical arms manufacturing techniques used throughout history!!

In 1912,Buffalo merged with the neighboring city of Canandaigua to form a new city called Erie. Erie quickly became an important commercial center due to its location at the junction of four major railroad routes. The city prospered thanks to its growing industries and good transportation options. Despite this success, Erie experienced some setbacks during the early years of post-World War II era. For example, it took until 1948 for Erie to establish itself as a national center for energy research after being denied status by Pittsburgh. However, despite these difficulties, Erie has since become one of America's leading economic engines thanks to its diverse businesses and vibrant cultural attractions

Erie is a town in Erie County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,708 at the 2010 census. Erie is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first white settlers in what is now Erie were farmers who arrived in 1872. In 1883, the Erie Railroad was built and it became one of the main transportation arteries in westernColorado. Due to its strategic location on ranches and other agricultural land east ofDenver, many mills and businesses were established here during this time including First National Bank of Erie (now JPMorgan Chase), Western Union Telegraph Company (WUTC), Eastern Railway Company (ERA) and others. The town's name comes from two Mohawk families who had settled there around 1800: The Forks and Pigeons. They named their village after Johnstown Creek which flows through their territory. One account says that General George Armstrong Custer camped near where modern-day downtown stands on July 3rd, 1881 while he was commanding the 5th Infantry Regiment during the Dakota War; when asked about his army's position he replied "I am at Elk Lake." This led to speculation that Buffalo Bill Cody may have been born or raised within walking distance of Elmira today! There are no actual evidence markers or specimens remaining from Custer's encampment but stories circulate among local folks He spent most summers living out his last days resting at Elk Lake before finally dying on December 15th., 1890 in nearby Cheyenne Wells Residence & Hospital). In 1905, a group of businessmen organized as the Western Slope Improvement Association(WSI) to help develop southwestwesternColorado’s new oilfields by purchasing abandoned ranchlands along Cherry Creek flowing into Mesa Verde Reservoir then building an oil refinery/pumpkin fields complex here called Bright Angel Field(BAAF). At its peak production BAF produced over 100 million gallons annually! However due to oil price hikes in 1916-1917 combined with World War I hostilities this field went inactive for almost 10 years… until it reawoke under auspices of Continental Oil Corporation(COC) when WWI ended? With $5 million investment from COC CEO Arthur Odegaard plus partners James Wattenberg and Harry Sinclair Wabash Power Plant began operation just outside present day Brighton on November 8th., 1919! In 1946 Wyoming A&PCompany merged with WABASHPowerplant becoming Wyoming Petroleum Corporation WPXH which continued production until 1984 when it became CSX Corp.(CSX)? It wasn't until 2001 when CNMI Gas Transmission Line LLC leased WPXH’s rights for operations along Cherry Creek upstream from Brighton making it back onto our soil once again!!! Erie has seen some pretty big things over these past few centuries like being home to both First National Bank Of America(FNB)&JPMorgan Chase bank as well as being host to both a Ford car assembly plant & Chrysler plants during World War II; however its biggest accomplishment may be having been chosen by Presidential candidate John Kennedy as his official campaign headquarters during his election run against Richard Nixon!!!

The city's early years were difficult, due to a lack of water supplies and insufficient transportation. However, Erie prospered through its commerce and culture, becoming one of the most important towns in Colorado during the late 19th century. In 1907, Erie was renamed after General George Armstrong Custer in honor of his victory at Little Big Horn. The city experienced a large population growth throughout the 20th century, reaching over 100,000 residents by 1970. After a period of decline in the early 21st century, Erie has experienced significant revitalization over the last several years, enjoying an increase in job opportunities and cultural diversity.
