In 1957-58 voters approved annexation by Westminster despite strong opposition coming from residents living south of Center Street including future Mayor Dick Butkus who threatened legal action should annexation be allowed because he saw it as a direct threat to his re-election chances if his opponent could show support for annexing such a large southern part of his city while he continued being mayor without any real say or control over events occurring therewithin! In 1957-58 many people left western Colorado because Of The Cold War nuclear tests taking place all around us And This Witch Hunt mentality still exists today We must remember our past so we can move forward into our future
