The Englewood Shooting Protection Association (ESPA) was formed in 1959 to promote the use of shooting protection devices in Englewood, Colorado. The association is a nonprofit organization that provides education and support for shooters and their families. In 1969, the National Rifle Association (NRA) created the Shotgunners’ Hall of Fame in honor of Englewood’s pioneer shot gunners. The NRA also donated $5,000 to ESPA to help promote shooting safety. Today, ESPA oversees an annual firearms show and convention in Englewood that attracts exhibitors from all over the United States. At the show, attendees can meet manufacturers of shooting protection devices, learn about new laws affecting firearm ownership and use, and find advice on safe muzzleloading practices. Englewood, Colorado is a small town in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population at the 2010 census was 2,869. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood metropolitan area. Today, there are still some remaining details from that time such as those found on each side porch where women used to go to after services to chat with their husbands about their work during these early days when communication wasn't always via email or telephone!
