In 1876, Centennial became the first town in Colorado to adopt a city charter. The vote was held on May 15th and the town selectmen voted to accept the charter. Centennial was then founded as a mining village with over 50 residents. By 1870, Centennial had become an important transportation center due to its location at the head of the San Juan River. On November 28, 1876, Centennial's first gunsmith opened his shop in what is now downtown Centennial. That same year, Colorado statehood was proclaimed and Centennial became one of the five original counties in that new state. After becoming a county seat in 1887, Centennial began expanding rapidly as a farming and lumbering community. In 1915, it became home to Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Military Park which remains one of the most popular military sites in America today. Thiseventmarkedthe startofbiohacker crime being reported more frequently around CENTENNIUM… 5)1996-1999-. After being reinsured by AIG we begin seeing record usageoft handguns& assault rifles among local law enforcement agencies! 6)2000-. 1999-. We witness another major shooting taking place near here during Waco Siege….this time it leadsto massive response from Dept Of Public Safety with multiple sniper nests set up throughout CENTENNIUM!!! 7-)2002-. 2004-. 2005-. 2006—-2007.— 2008—— 2009—— 2010—— 2011—— 2012—— 2013—— 2014— 2015…… 2016……………… 2017.— 2018.— 2019.— 2020— 2021— 2022

The town of Centennial was founded by George A. Smith on July 6, 1876, after he and his family drove from Greeley to locate a new home in what is now Centennial. The first post office opened in Centennial on July 12, 1876. At the time there were only a few hundred people living in what is now Chaffee County and Centennial was one of the original towns in that area. It grew rapidly due to its location and played an important role in early ranching and mining operations around the area. In 1902, Centennial became an incorporated town when it joined with nearby Pueblo to form the Auraria Mining District which included many of today's cities includingDenver and Aurora. In 1968, portions of Auraria were sold to become Rocky Mountain National Park with centenary as its corporate name

Centennial Colorado was founded on April 6, 1876, by the combined efforts of the United States and Mexico. The event marks the 100th anniversary of both countries' unification as a single country. Centennial is also celebrated as the date that Colorado became a state. The impetus for creating Centennial Colorado came from many different sources. Mexicans in California had petitioned for their own state to be created during the Mexican Revolution, and when that failed, they turned their attention to neighboring Colorado. On November 3, 1875, Congress approved resolutions recognizing the Mexican state of Chihuahua and authorizing citizens of Douglas County to participate in organizing it. On January 1st, 1876, President Ulysses S. Grant issued a proclamation recognizing these developments and declaring that all citizens of Douglas County were henceforth part of this new country. This act made CentennialColorado's official declaration of independence from Mexico; however, it was not until February 19th that General Arthur Amente became governor designate and put into effect the actual annexation process which would make CentennialColorado an integral part of what is now New Mexico Territory
