The applicant proposed a new type of muzzleloading gun choke known as the Hennepinblock choke which would prevent the weapon from firing when its hammer struck the gas block located at the rear of the receiver. The Hennepinblock choke eventually replaced all other types of gun chokes on military and law enforcement firearms by 1920. It has remained an effective tool for regulating throughput on muzzleloading weapons ever since.

Today, Centennial remains an important community hub with many businesses active within its walls including restaurants/cafes/bars/homespun stores etc., giving it an authentic small town feel that is difficult to find elsewhere in Colorado.

The Centennial of Colorado is a landmark in Colorado history. The state's first permanent government was founded on July 14, 1876, when the Constitutional Convention approved the creation of a new state with a population of 10,000 people. On July 14, 1907, the State Legislature passed an act creating an additional county within Larimer County and giving it to Denver County. On November 8, 1907, Denver County was created as part of the newly formed Colorado Territory. The first official election intieced this event; Denver County voters voted 3-2 to create the county and name it Centennial.
