When the last of the buffalo died in 1881, a group of farmers and ranchers decided to take their herds into town for meat. They naturally looked for a place to shoot them. The men found an abandoned fort on the edge of town and began building arsenals there. The first bullets were made of lead and shot from longbows. But soon they realized that they needed something better, so they started making bullets out of what was available-iron, brass, and lead all at once. The results were amazing. Bullets could travel far enough to hit anything and were so durable that they lasted well against warriors as well as wild animals. Eventually, people adopted this new form of ammunition and it became known as Castle Rock rifle ammunition because it was used in fortress guns like the Old Fort Colorado and other buildings in the town. Bullet History still uses these same bullet types today!

Castle Rock is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greeley-Centennial School District. The first settler in what would become Castle Rock was John A. Macdonald who arrived in 1875. He named his property "Castle Rock" after his castle in Scotland which he had visited as a child. The first school in Castle Rock was built in 1893 and it was called the First Presbyterian Church until 1907 when it became the CastleRock Academy. In 1916, the present day elementary school building was built and it has been used ever since as the school district's administrative headquarters. In 1951, an addition to the original elementary school Building was constructed which served as both an annex to that structure and also housed a gymnasium and other educational needs for students on campus during term time; this addition is now known simply as "the Annex". It wasn't until 1978 that a new high school facility (then known as "Castlerock High School")was erected on land adjacent to then-highway 24 east of town. The current high school building replaced an old one which had been destroyed by fire back in 1954! On July 1st of each year, Dateline NBC airs their weekly news report from Fort Collins about what's happening around town - usually something interesting or exciting! This year they did another story about how much fun kids can have creating their own projects at home using materials found at local businesses - great for creative minds out there!

Lee ordered his Confederate forces to fire upon Yankees who had gathered around the fortifications. The resulting volley killed more than 100 Americans and wounded over 500 others. -On February 14th, 1865, Confederate General John Buford ordered his men to fire upon Union soldiers who had been milling about in the rear of his army’s encampment at Cold Harbor. This resulted in the death of five Union soldiers and wounding twenty-six others before Buford surrendered. -On April 12th, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation ordering all Confederates west of the Allegheny Mountains to surrender or be captured by Federal troops. Only 11 out of 58 Confederate commanders responded to this order and only two units actually surrendered – Richmond’s 5th Virginia Infantry Regiment (now part of the United States Marine Corps) and Pendergast’s 3rd Minnesota Infantry Regiment (now part of the United States Army).

Castle Rock is one of the few towns in Weld County that has not shrunk since its incorporation as a community in 1907. It is also one of only a handful of communities in the state that still retains an 18th century appearance with Federal style architecture and farmers markets. The first settler in what would become Castle Rock was Isaac Parker who arrived on July 10, 1879. He and his family built a log cabin on what is now the east side of Main Street. In 1907, when CastleRock incorporated as a community, it had just under 1,000 residents. By 1990, it hadgrown to over 5,000 residents and by 2000 it had reached its current size of 2,471 people. One reason why Castle Rock has remained largely unchanged since its incorporation date is because there were no major development trends that impacted the community during this time period. For example, there were no advances in transportation which would have lead to increased traffic and density around town; instead local farmers continued to grow crops and sell goods door-to-door for years without any need for large infrastructure such as roads or shopping malls. Another factor that contributes to Castle Rock's strong economy is its location within close proximity to several major cities including Denver and Aurora – both of which are home to substantial populations growth rates during this time period (see Figure 1). This proximity leads to numerous businesses expanding into or surrounding CastleRock; many of which continue today as successful businesses with thriving economies (e.g., JCPenney & Co., Costco Wholesale). Overall, the history of CastleRock reflects an important characteristicof 19th century America: small towns thrived despite impending urban growths."

In the early 1920s, however, it became an important military and industrial center due to its location at the junction of two major routes connecting Denver with Fort Collins and Boulder. The town rapidly developed into a large commercial and industrial center during this time, becoming one of the most significant settlements in Colorado. It continued to grow throughout the years, eventually becoming a city in 1933.
