By 1907, the company had moved from its original location to an old millrace known as the “Water Race” where it continued making binocular sets until 1915 when it moved again to 7th Street and Noland Avenue in Canon City proper. In 1917, Ernst Rheinberger became president of Banz & Sievers and decided that all new products should be named after either German rivers or classical Greek gods such as Poseidon, Hermes Trismegistus, Apollo Belvedere etcetera. Therefore, the company began producing optics under the name Herstal-Banz (Herstal) from 1917-1945 before finally changing its name back to Banz & Sievers in 1945 following World War II. The company produced more than 350 different types of binocular sets over the years including both military and civilian versions as well as telescopes which could be attached onto some sets for use asbinocular mounts for Telescopic views; these telescopes ranged from .75 inches up to 12 feet focal length with 1/4 inch eye relief! Furthermore, there was also a line of spotting scopes which included a variety ofBushnell spotting scopes (later replaced by Weaver Optics) up through 4x30mm magnification! The Spotting Scope Division produced six models each featuring an illuminated reticle sight providing accurate alignment during long hours hunting or fishing applications! Canon City is a small town in the San Miguel County area of Colorado. The population was 1,851 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Canon City–Pueblo, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first post office in Canon City was established on December 11, 1876. The present Post Office Building was built in 1904 and is still in use today. The original public school district in Canon City was established on November 15, 1907 by an act of the Colorado General Assembly. It included all of Whatcom County except for Canon City and Pueblo which were annexed to the School District #1 after it was formed from what remained of the former Whatcom County public schools. On May 25, 1951, satellite images revealed that mineral rights had been purchased by oil companies operating out of Frisco, Texas for exploration purposes within what would become known as the Eagle Ford Shale Basin Area (EFSA). This led to an immediate investigation into whether or not Canon City could be developed as a production center for this new oil field due to its proximity to Denver and other major metropolitan areas.
