In 1984, Don Freeman donated a handgun to The Gun Collector’s Museum which currently houses over 20 handguns including 5 original revolvers! These donations are some of the most significant in our history because they allowed us to build up our collection even further! Today we have more than 3200 firearms in our collection! In 1990, Chuck Sprague gave away his shotgun for charity so that everyone could enjoy hunting season without having to worry about getting into trouble with their government! The population was 51,859 as of 2010. The city is named after Ezra Broomfield who founded a post office in 1874. The first permanent settler in Broomfield was Captain Nathaniel Webb of New York City who arrived with his family on July 6, 1875. On October 22nd 1926 construction began on what would become Denver’s first high school – Douglas Academy – with classes startingSeptember 15th 1927 under direction of Miss Florence Kelley Pappas with instruction given both day and evening sessions beginning September 26th 1927 through 1930 when classes were suspended because OFDRA requisitioned all facilities used for religious instruction during World War II . In 1933 Drue113 Zimmerman became principal with her husband Drue running day and evening classes part time until her retirement effective January 1st 1934 . In 1935 consolidation took place between Denver Public Schools District No 2 (west Side) and Douglas Academy District No 1 resulting in enrollment increasing from just 16 pupils to nearly 350 pupils including 20 girls who transferred from East High School located east of Main Street intoDouglas Academy District No1 which shared buildings with South High School also enrolling girls making pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade available before door number 7 appeared above second story windows soon after enactment providing primary education opportunities for almost 400 children from northeast side areas along main street including many families whose eight or nine children attended Douglass Academy without going to Northside Elementary or West Side Junior High Schools prior to this period large numbers many more these days living outsideDenver limits north side residents since earliest days well before incorporation becoming community south side residents offering free transportation west side residents closed schools due very strict regulation coming about as result over years no one wanted free public education east sideResidents offered free transportation to west Side but this type of transportation proved too dangerous so most students went to southSide Elementary or local high schools
