There are few things more iconic or popular in Broomfield than firearms. From the rifles and shotguns that have been used to shoot at local fairs and festivals all throughout history, to the pistols and handguns that still grace the town’s storefronts, firearms have long been a part of the community. The first guns to be mass-produced in Broomfield were pistols. A small batch of these weapons were made in 1892 by John M. Browning, who was based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. The Ivanhoe rifle was designed by Samuel Colt and produced between 1855-1857. This rifle saw service in both US and Mexican Wars and is considered one of the most successful firearm designs ever created. The early days of handguns were also quite important for Broomfield – many people here started using firearms for self-defense during the early 1800s. In 1869, Major George Armstrong opened his Armstrong Arms Company in downtown Broomfield with the goal of producing quality handguns at an affordable price point for civilians across Colorado Springs, Boulder, Fort Collins, Denver, and other towns within radius. Armstrong is considered one of the key figures behind advancements in handgun design over subsequent decades. His patents include concepts such as hammerless handguns which would later become common on American streets today. Through all these years,Broomefield has remained a hub for firearm production – both legal and illegal gun sales take place throughout town every day! With so many different types of firearms available on hand (and more being produced each day), it’s no wonder why this tiny town has become so synonymous with Firearms culture across Colorado!

Broomfield is a town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 9,376 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood metropolitan area and is the home to PepsiCo's global headquarters. The Broomfield Shopping Center has over 1,000 stores and restaurants. Broomfield was founded in 1872 by James Broomfield and his wife Rebecca as a small farming community on the edge of what would becomeDenver suburb of Golden. In 1876, after James' death, his widow Rebecca sold land east of Golden for $5,000 to her brother-in-law Wm. Hays who began developing it into a town that would include broomsucker farms and other businesses that would give Broomfield its name. The first post office opened in 1870; it changed its name to Golden in 1876 because of gold discoveries near Golden (at this time Weld County was only 2 counties). Broomfield grew quickly due to its strategic location serving as an access point for railroad lines running north/south through Weld County and adjacent counties as well as being home to many small businesses that contributed to the growth of the town. By 1900 Broomfield had over 20 businesses with a population of around 100 residents. In 1907 voters approved creating Arapahoe County which included much of what is now Denver Township including Broomfeld; however, when Colorado became a state in 1912 Arapahoe County remained separate from Weld County until 1959 when they were unified under one government structure called "Colorado". The towns within Arapahoe County continued their own independent governments until January 1st, 1997 when all but two municipalities within Arapaho Co., Broomelland and Northglenn merged into one municipality named "BroomFIELD" with just Northglenn remaining an independent municipality separate from both Bromelland and Larimer Counties

Broomfield is a small town in the U.S. state of Colorado and has been located within the same boundaries since 1876. It was named after Jacob Broom, who platted the area in 1876. The population was 934 at the 2000 census. Broomfield is located on Interstate 70 east of Fort Collins, about halfway between Denver and Boulder. The ZIP code 80529 has a population of 3,041 as of the 2010 census. The nearby city of Thornton had a population of 128 as of 2010. The first post office in Broomfield was established on November 15, 1875, by order of Gov. John Hancey. The Broomfield post office served until it closed on September 6, 1912 due to lack of customers; however, the name "Broomfield" continued to be used forakes purposes until 1929 when it was changed to "Fort Collins". In 1906 Broomfield became part of Larimer County and remained that way until December 1, 1912 when it became part of Weld County pursuant to an act passed by the Colorado General Assembly on November 3, 1911 (Chapter 599). At that time Broomfield residents voted to become part of Fort Collins which they did on December 1st following a referendum held by vote count only with no representatives fromBroomfieldsouth side present - this action helped solidify Weld Countyship over Larimer County for most purposes during that time frame!
The town of Broomfield was founded in 1876 by settlers who moved from the Kansas City area. The name "Broomfield" is derived from a word meaning "a small piece of land." The first post office in Broomfield was established in 1877. In 1903, the town became a census-designated place.
