Brighton, Colorado is home to the oldest firearms manufacturer in the United States. The company was founded in 1892 by Hiram Maxim and Samuel Colt. In 1902, Maxim merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Colt-Winchester Firearms Company. This company produced shotguns, pistols and rifles until 1990 when it became a part of Ruger Holding Corporation. In 1896, George Anschutz purchased a small rifle factory in Fremont, California for $2,000 dollars. He named this factory Anschutz Arms Company after his father-in-law, Adolph Anschutz. The first guns made at this new plant were rifles called the "Anschutz" pattern Rifle. These rifles were designed by George Averill and produced from 1897 to 1901. In 1903, Anschutz sold his interest in the company to Theodore Roosevelt for $10 million dollars. Roosevelt renamed the company "Ruger Manufacturing Company." Ruger began production of handguns in 1905 with the introduction of the American Pistol Model 1 (later known as the .357 Magnum). This handgun was eventually designated as America's favorite rifle due to its high accuracy and firepower. In 1912, Ruger merged with Steyr Arms Corporation to form Steyr & Co., Incorporated (SSI). SSI manufactured pistols including both model 1903 Springfield Armory pistols and model 1907 Smith & Wesson revolvers under license from Colt-Winchester Firearms Company (CWFC). In 1916 SSI teamed up with Browning Machine Gun Works to produce what would become known as one of America's most successful machine gun products – the Browning Automatic Shotgun (BASIC). BASIC remained popular through World War II and into postwar years; over 150 million weapons were produced by SSI alone!

Brighton, Colorado is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,713 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greeley–Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in Brighton were white European settlers who arrived in 1859. The town was named after Brighton, England. In 1870, the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad extended its line through Brighton and began to serve the town as a transportation center. By 1890, when it merged with the Santa Fe Railway, Brighton had become an important railroad junction and commercial center for north-central Weld County. In 1907, when Thornton became a city, it annexed much of what is now Brighton into its boundaries; however, that annexation did not take place until 1912 because Thornton's incorporation didn't include all of Weld County. By 1925 there were already over 100 businesses located in downtown Brighton and on Main Street alone there were 11 banks and eight grocery stores along with several movie theaters and other businesses such as a post office (opened in 1893). The economic decline of the 1920s led to numerous job losses for businessmen in downtown Brighton but also many new businesses opening up throughout Weld County due to increased transportation options including Interstate 70 which connected Denver to Fort Collins via Windsor on the adjacent Colorado River Gorge route. In 1937 Benny Goodman moved his band from New York City toDenver's Civic Auditorium so he could headline an annual summer concert series at that venue. This event helped revive downtown business activity which continued into the 1950s thanks to periodic outdoor concerts by local bands like Levon Helm’s Allman Brothers Band (1957), Dave Brubeck (1958), Cannonball Adderley & His Orchestra (1959) and Joe Satriani (1960). Welfare reform during President Lyndon Johnson's administration made jobs available once again for some blue-collar workers who had lost them during previous administrations while reducing benefits for others; this brought more people Downtown who formerly frequented bars or restaurants closed down because they couldn't compete with welfare-dependent families living on their streetsides without subsidized housing or public assistance vouchers provided by state government programs known as "Section 8." Businesses like grist mills closed because they could no longer keep up with rising food prices caused by increased farmer production costs while saloons lost customers because they could no longer afford entertainment expenses associated with being open late at night or providing gambling services during prohibition era days when alcohol was still illegal . Because of these social changes within Downtown Brighton many storefronts have been abandoned sincecharacterized as "failed malls" unable economically sustain themselves given current market conditions although some examples include: DinerTown USA Inc., currently used primarily for storage; The Village Shoppe occupied by IHOP before converting into residential units; What Do You Call A Place Like This? - presently home to multiplex cinema anchored by Regal Cinemas – which has been vacant since 2007 when DISCOVERY COASTAL GASOLINE vacated their building next door after mergers among four different theater chains; replaced by Regal Park Theatre - formerly Home Depot - which opened in early 2018 adjacent Brentwood Mall;; former R&R Motel - now called Renaissance Manor Inn - closedtered its doors following years of neglect prior to reopening as One Stop Liquor Store later this year.;former First National Bank Building reopened as Fine Arts Realty Center late 2017 after being vacant since 2013 following closure of Summit Bank across street

Firearms continued to be used in warfare until 1898 when they were banned due to military concerns about hand-to-hand combat effectiveness with firearms. Brighton, Colorado is a town in San Miguel County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,538 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1903 and named for Brighton on the English Channel. The town of Brighton was founded by developers from Longmont and Aspen who were looking to develop a small community on the edge of their towns. They came up with the idea of naming their new town after a location on the English Channel that would be convenient for boatloads of tourists to visit during summertime. The original name for Brighton was "Everest". The first residents of Brighton were transient migrants from Pennsylvania who had come to see what all the fuss was about in America. By 1905, there were only six people living in Brighton when it became a city under an incorporation ordinance passed by the San Miguel County Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1905. The city's first mayor was Wm Hennessey and its first treasurer were Jno Laughlin and Ewing Dunham (both later deceased). The first post office opened in 1907 and remained open until it closed in 1970 due to changes in USPS service regulations. In 1968, Brighton merged with Longmont into one municipality which remains today as one of eight municipalities located within San Miguel County. In 2003, Mayor John Hendrix submitted a proposal to annex part of neighbouring Crested Butte into Brighton so that they could share services related to public safety and infrastructure development including schools and fire protection; however this proposal did not gain much traction among residents or officials within either municipality so it has not been revisited since then. On October 15th 2009, Mayor Hendrix proposed amendments to City Code which would annex Crested Butte into Brighton if re-elected as Mayor; however this proposal also failed to gain much traction among residents or officials within either municipality so it has not been revisited since then either

The town was named after the English port of Brighton, which is where they first landed on their ships. The town quickly grew and became a popular tourist destination for people looking to explore the beautiful Rocky Mountains. In 1951, the town annexed the neighboring town of Asotin and made it its official government center.
