Shortly thereafter, several families who had received parcels from Vásquez de Cuellar began settling in central and eastern Boulder County and developing what are now some of Douglas County's most influential townships including Evergreen Village (now Golden), Northglenn Heights (now Centennial), Evergreen Rancho (now Rocky Mountain View), Cherry Creek Valley (now Northglenn), Telluride Village (now Telluride), Fir Grove Heights (now Greenwood Village), Horse Heaven Hills(now Broomfield) and Englewood East(later Englewood West). By 1800, when Colorado statehood was granted to America on November 6th that year by President James Kieft, Boulder had become one of the major transportation hubs in westward expansionism due to its location at the junction of two major routes: The Santa Fe Trail which ran northwest from Denver via Aspen throughjiwaii Springs before intersecting at Longmont Junction where it continued easteward along Clear Creek before reaching Larimer County; while also being connected by numerous wagon roads running northeast from Denver via Aspinjiwaii Springs before intersecting at Longmont Junction where they continued easteward along Clear Creek before reaching Larimer County). Boulder quickly became one of America's leading cities thanks to its rich cultural heritage dating back centuries combined with its large population size which reached 3507 by 1881.
