Boulder, Colorado is a city located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of 2010, it had a population of 199,783 and is the second-largest city in Colorado after Denver. The area that now makes up Boulder was first inhabited by the Lapp people, who were responsible for much of what is now known about mountaineering and irrigation in the Rocky Mountains. Jennie McConnell played an important role in developing Boulder into what it is today; she served on many civic organizations including becoming president pro tempore of the municipal council in 1898 before retiring two years later to dedicate her time full-time to professional work with her husband. In 1907 she became director of social welfare for Denver County after leaving her position as director for local government relations for Park County in Greeley,Colorado during that same year coordinate changes within Park County due to annexation by Denver County when Denver was created independent from Centennial College (now University Of Colorado). During World War II both Watermans took active roles with their company Bob Hope Paper Company manufacturing paper products overseas under contract to various theater commands while their children attended college; Eliza worked until 1951 when she passed away at age 85David oversaw production until his death in 1984 followed by daughter Pam who continued operations until 2000.
