During World War II both Armoury Firearms Corporation and The Armoury Manufacturing Company built munitions plants specifically for making guns such as handguns and rifles; these plants played an important role during the war because they supplied munitions to various military forces throughout the world. 6. After the war armament production recommenced at Armory Manufacturing Company Ltd., but ceased completely on May 20th, 1946 following its bankruptcy reorganization into Colt Industries Incorporated (). According to company records, armaments production totaled 2 million pieces ({$}), including pistols (.45 calibers) and rifles (.30 calibers), through 1974!
