This trend continued until at least 1907 when NRA President James Atherton issued a decree barring any further production of handguns within its organization. This left militaries as the only legitimate source for firearm clothing at that point in time (although civilian manufacturers continued to produce similar products). Yucca Valley is a small town in the southern San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. The population was 20,571 at the 2010 census. It is part of the city of Los Angeles metropolitan area and is located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) east of downtown LA. The valley was named for Yucca Mountain, which is in Mexico and not within U.S. borders. A local group of Mormons discoveredaching up from the bottom of the mountain had an indicating surface deposit of black salt crystals that they named "Yucca" because it resembled yucca flowers in their appearance when touched or held. From this connection, Yucca Valley became associated with early Mormon missionaries who traveled here to preach to Native American groups during the Gold Rush era (1849-1858). In 1875, George Westheimer built a sawmill on what are now Hacienda Road and Pacific Coast Highway in present-day Yucca Valley after purchasing land from Mexican landowners along Santa Anita Boulevard south of present day Glendale Boulevard. In 1881 he opened his mill at 901 S Figueroa St., later known as Western Electric's main campus; it became one of first large corporate campuses in Southern California and remains one today with more than 1 million employees worldwide including western telcos AT&T and Comcast Xfinity as well as technology giant Apple Incorporated's Research Campus (later renamedCupertino Peninsula), located on nearly 100 acres (40 hectares) overlooking Silicon Beach near where El Segundo Pier opens into Oyster Bay Harbor
The Yucca Valley, CA area is located in the Inyo County, California region. The valley was named for the Yucca tree which grows there. The first people to live in the valley were the Native Americans who hunted and gathered berries from the mountains around it. They built their villages near where they hunted and gathered materials. In 1851, Nevada Territory was formed from parts of both California and Arizona Territory. It included land in what are now Inyo and Tujunga Counties. This territory was divided into two parts, one including the Yucca Valley, and another including Santa Cruz County. A group of Mormons founded Salt Lake City in 1857 on Mormon Lake in what is now Utah County, based on their belief that they would be able to find a new home with relief from persecution in America. The region became part of California when it was admitted as a state in 1850. In 1863, during the American Civil War, General Grant ordered General Robert E Lee to cross the border into Nevada at Yuma Pass so he could attack Sacramento along Union Army's route of march to Gettysburg (the battle between Confederate forces led by General Robert E Lee and Union forces under Ulysses S Grant). On September 3rd 1863, about 9 miles north of Yuma Pass on US 163 (now SR 523), Confederate troops overran an adobe brigade camped by Union troops commanded by Colonel John Cushing; this event is known as Battle of Yuma Pass (). The area became part of Inyo County when it was created from portions of both California and Arizona Territories on November 14th 1860 (). On January 2nd 1865 - three days after President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated - Governor Edward Humes signed legislation creating San Bernardino County out of lands east of San Gabriel Mountains within present-day Riverside County; this action created much needed rural space within Anza-Borrego Desert National Monument (), making Yucca Valley possible for further development due to its location close to major cities (). Yucca Valley has been inhabited since at least 8600 BC according to evidence found at sites throughout southern California
