In 1912, Riflesmith merged with another prominent handgun manufacturer, Wilkinson & Bacon Co., which gave rise to what is now known as Wilkinson & Bender Holsters Ltd. The company continued to produce quality handguns until it was acquired by Hecht & Klauber Incorporated in 1978. Since then, Hecht & Bender has been one of the leading holstermakers in America. Yuba City, California is a city located in the Central Valley of California. The population was 1,564 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Yuba County. The origins of Yuba City date back to 1859 when gold was found near present-day Yuba City. A post office called "Napa" was established in 1865, and remained in operation until 1870. The town of Napa was consolidated with Yuba City on February 14, 1876. In 1911, the first electric streetcar service ran through downtown Yuba City; this service ended in 1915 because of cost overruns. In 1916, Japhet Sato opened his rancho north of downtown and began to cultivate land for hay and other crops which would become the basis for later development. In 1928, construction began on the Napa River Bridge which connected downtown Napa with what is now eastNapa County; this bridge became one of the original landmarks within Yuba City limits. A fire destroyed most of Napa early on November 12, 1942; however firefighters were able to battle it from starting point to finished line without any loss of life or property damage. By 1944 there were over 100 businesses operating as well as 350 residents living in downtown Napa alone due to wartime shortages in housing and jobs opportunities elsewhere available during World War II (see Nazism). On January 5th 1946 new mayor Earle Widenius signed an ordinance establishing a daytime public library system within city limits serving all citizens free from charge by arrangement between local school districts who shared use thereof with libraries operated by other townships within that county until such time as a special $5 per month tax could be levied for that purpose by ordinance passed by council; under said ordinance library hours were 7:00 p.m.–6:00 a m., Tuesday through Saturday except when closed by order of council pursuant to regulations hereinabove provided . . . . On July 1st 1952 two more branches were added - one at Forest Avenue and Lahontan Street (the old Hunter Street branch) and one at 25th Street and Hwy 101 North (the previous 19thStreet branch). Yuba County's population peaked at 10,,813 people during its heyday around 1960-70 but has gradually declined since then – primarily due to commuting into cities like Fresno or Sacramento along I-5 or Interstate 80 while larger chunks have switched away from agriculture towards industry or services like online shopping malls or professional sports teams/areas near big city centers like San Francisco Bay Area etc.. However recent Census results show that population growth across all demographics is below registrants growth rate (-1%/-7%) so overall decline may not be permanent despite recent efforts expended ..... Despite generally negative trends seen throughout much Southern California counties after 2010 mass suburbanization especially western Kern Valley I’ve faith that some things will change here including slower job loss rates (+2%) caused mainly by mild winters rather than technology changes etc., increased investment & entrepreneurship (+4%), increasing skilled labor pool (+3%), young families moving out West (~10% since 2000), expanding agricultural production potential (&2% growth rate since 2000) making Yuba City very well poised both physically & economically for continued moderate values…..
