Yorba Linda, California is a city in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 57,871 as of the 2010 census. It is located on the western edge of Los Angeles County and is part of the LA-SD-CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Yorba Linda's history can be traced back to 1887 when two brothers founded the town of Geneva on Rancho Bernardo near present day Yorba Linda. The first post office was established in 1889 and it served as an annex to Los Angeles until 1923 when it became its own municipality. In 1924, the town incorporated as a city under the name “Yorba Linda” because there was not yet a municipal water system in place for that area. The city has experienced several incarnations throughout its history: from being a small farming community to becoming one of Southern California’s most diverse cities with over 60 languages spoken natively within its borders; Finally, through annexation by other municipalities and then secession from those municipalities until finally reincorporation into Orange County in 1990. By 1900, advances had been made such that Telescopes could now image faint galaxies far beyond our own Milky Way galaxy! These developments allowed astronomers like Edison Freemont (1847-1925)and James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1909)to make significant discoveries about electricity and magnetism which would impact both physics and engineering later on!
