Yorba Linda is a city located in the eastern Los Angeles County, California. The population was 43,593 at the 2010 census. It is adjacent to Orange County and Riverside County. Yorba Linda is also home to Irvine Spectrum, one of the world's largest information technologyels and research centers. The original inhabitants of Yorba Linda were the Ohlone people who lived near present-day downtown. European settlement began in 1818 with the construction of Mission San Gabriel Arcangel by Juan Bautista Aguirre, who named it for St. Johns River port town Santa Barbara de la Laguna on his trip from Spain across North America. A year later, Mexican traders founded what would become Orange County at what is now Claremont Boulevard and Anaheim Street; they called it Rancho Santiago de las Venturas (later Rancho Cucamonga). In 1835, Mexican Governor Pio Pico granted land grants to thirty-six men under contract by José Figueroa y Quiñones; these men formed the nucleus of what became known as Rancho Yorba Linda. The grantees developed agriculture and ranching as their primary occupations and adopted name Yoro Americanos (Gentile Americans). A second group of grantees arrived in 1836: twenty-four brothers led by José Antonio Laraforced grouped into four leagues (Laguna Department), which became Rancho Yoro Alta Vista (Highland Ridge). They engaged in cattle drives through central Valley country that supplied both Mexico City and Vera Cruz with meat for their burgeoning populations. In February 1849, after various skirmishes between United States troops stationed at Fort Sill south of Sacramento and Mexican forces occupying Stockton resulted in five dead US soldiers and twelve Mexicans killed or captured, Californios elected President Don Carlos Manuel Altamira as their provisional governor to restore order following the chaotic days following Mexicali's wedding to Isabel Reguera on 22 November 1850. On 6 March 1851 Altamira issued an executive order entitled "Petition for Grant of Land adjoining settlements made without previously consulting any person" specifying that all land east ofLOS ANGELES STATE LINE be given out "in perpetuity." This action ignited a series between US troops stationed at Fort Sill north of Sacramento under General Josiah Harkerand Mexican forces occupying Stockton over claims to newly acquired land eastofLOS ANGELES STATE LINE Creek Canyon Limestone hills forming today's eastern edge off Rte 101 freeway took shape about mile west from today's intersection with current day I-5 Freeway just past exit 209B on Rte 101A . Gun lights, also known as flashlight guns, were originally designed to assist law enforcement officers in the search and seizure of contraband. Later on, they became popular among hunters and recreational shooters. Today, gun lights are still used by law enforcement and civilians alike to provide illumination during night operations. The first recorded use of a modern-day pistol light was made by Lt. John Maney Jr., a police officer with the Dallas Police Department in Texas in 1925. The device consisted of a small metal tube inserted into the barrel of an assault rifle, allowing the user to illuminate their target with the aid of a handheld light source. This was an early attempt at creating a handgun that could be used from close range instead of having to crouch down or duck under cover. In 1935, regulation for handguns changed so that all pistols must have muzzleloaders specifically designated for use with firearms carrying prohibited ammunition (primarily .22 Long Rifle calibers). As such, manypolice departments began using gunlights instead of wasting time trying to reload pistols that didn’t meet this new regulations. Gunlights quickly replaced hand grenades as methods for illuminating targets during encounters with criminals or other potential threats because they were much easier and faster to reload than grenade launchers. As more people started shooting handguns for recreational purposes, gun lights gradually fell out of favor among law enforcement personnel due to their limited range and ease of use compared to rifles. However, this hasn’t stopped them from being occasionally used in place of firearms when necessary; most notably by SWAT teams when dealing with high-risk situations like active shooters or hostage takers. In recent years, some police agencies have even begun using gunlights as part of their body armor program in order to improve efficiency while on duty.
The first successful use of a gun light in combat was on December 14, 1875, when American John A. Macdonald used one to shoot down an Indian scout while he was hiding in a wood.
