Windsor, California is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of north-central California. It is located within Stanislaus County, about midway between Fresno and Stockton on State Route 99. The population was 3,907 at the 2010 census. Windsor is part of the Modesto/San Joaquin Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settlers in what would become Windsor arrived in 1853 when George Sutter landed his ship "Natchez" on the San Joaquin River. In 1857, James C. Nye set up a post office in what is now the downtown area of Windsor. Today, most of the town's activity takes place around its two public high schools: Central High School and Windsor Junior College (WJC). The other significant source of income for residents comes from agriculture which accounts for nearly 60% of all economic activity in town. According to the United States Census Bureau, Windsor has a total area of , all land. The community received its name from Lord Windward who donated land to be permanently settled by Americans with similar British roots as those who had founded Sacramento and Yuba City following their Mexican victory over Mexico at Buena Vista Heights on December 6, 1846. The name was later changed to honor Bishop John Pemberton (1793–1868), an American missionary associated with Gaudí’s Cathedral de la Rua in Barcelona who became one of America’s greatest philanthropists during her time as President Woodrow Wilson’s Ministerial Representative for Religious Affairs

Rifle stocks first became popularized in America during the Revolutionary War when British soldiers were utilizing Thompson cannons to shell American positions. The Americans recognized the value in having a solid platform from which to shoot, and began manufacturing their own rifles based on this design. This led to the development of modern rifle stocks, which are still in use today. The historical roots of rifle stocks can be traced back to 1836, when George Washington was using a type of cannon known as a “Thompson cannon” against British troops at Saratoga Springs, New York. Thompson cannons were designed by Major General Benjamin Butler and his team with assistance from Nicholas-Jacques Conte (the French naval officer who had assisted Butler on Saratoga). The Americans used these cannons for artillery fire rather than just shooting at targets like traditional muskets did. As a result, Thompson cannons acquired new capabilities that made them ideal for use as riflestocks: they could be fired multiple rounds per minute and could reach high altitudes due to their rangefinding ability. This gave rise to the idea of creating riflestocks specifically modeled after how Thompson cannons functioned; however, no real success was achieved until 1795 when Henry Repeating Arms Company developed what would become known as the “Henry Rifle” model. The Henry Rifle was eventually adopted by both military and civilian populations across North America; it remains one of the most popular rifles in history because it is reliable, versatile, and affordable. With its unique design features – such as its heavy barrel and short stock – the Henry Rifle helped create an entire genre of rifles that remain popular decades later: AR-15s (assault rifles). AR-15s have continued to be popular among shooters ever since they were first introduced; consequently, there has been ample opportunity for manufacturers to develop newstock designs that perfectsuit different users’ needs and preferences. One such innovative manufacturer is Smith & Wesson Firearms Corporation (S&W), which has produced some truly innovative firearmstocks over the years including their Shield series Of pistols and revolvers featuring handguard/forearm construction designed specifically for sniper shootings or long gun tournaments!

Windsor, California is a small town located in Kern County, California. It is the largest of the towns in Kern County and was founded on October 11th, 1870 by James Fenton. The name Windsor comes from the hill on which it was built. The population of Windsor was 581 at the 2010 census. The first people to live in what is now Windsor were farmers who came overland from Oregon during the Gold Rush. A post office was established in 1868 and until 1880, there was no mail service to Windsor because it was located on a branch of the Central Pacific Railroad. In 1882, a stage line ran through Windsor and passengers could buy tickets at the depot. By 1886, there were two schools in town- one for boys and one for girls- both operated by school board members. In 1898, construction began on a dam across Big Creek that would provide water for irrigation purposes and would also create hydroelectric power for local homes and businesses. The dam was completed in 1902 and became known asthe Big Bridge Dam because it blocked most of Big Creek from flowing into Lake Superior. During World War II, Windsor served as an airfield for United States Air Force planes bombing Japanese targets in Japan during World War II. In 1965, when Kern County changed its forms from adobe to modern county government styles, Windsor became part of Kern County proper under new government structures but retains its own elected school board member system with three members per district instead of four as before). In 1969 ( following passage of Proposition 13), all public education within Kern County switched over to statewide pubic education standards with unified funding based upon student grades rather than individual home districts’ rates). Since then much progress has been made towards integrating all educational institutions throughout Kern County with similar graduation rates; however many more students still need extra help meeting state mandates such as homework/test scores due to various special needs found among our community’s residents (chiefly low income kids) . Over time many things have changed about our once small town including: 1) There are now several large shopping malls within minutes drive or lessof every type imaginable including Safeway Supercenter (), Walmart (), etc.; 2) Many new businesses have opened up;; 3) Our downtown has seen significant renovation/addition;; 4) Our streets have been resurfaced beginning back in the late 1990s after years of neglect;; 5) And finally most importantly; 6) There really isn't anything we can't do because we're just "a little ways away" from everything!
