A sawmill started up soon after and produced lumber for local buildings until it went out of business in 1865. In 1882, Jno Condon opened a grocery store and post office which remains today as one of the most important businesses in town. In 1886, James Sayers opened a bakery which became well known for their delicious cinnamon rolls called "Sayer's Bites". In 1916, George Murphy opened his first gas station here named Murphy's Grocery which serves as an important part of life today for many residents including farmers markets, concerts, sporting events and more! Today, there are several restaurants including two Chinese restaurants (one open year-round), four Italian Restaurants (three open year-round), two Mexican Restaurants (open year-round) as well as several bars/pubs including Captain Morgan's & Tiger Jacks Bar & Grill serving up American-ized British pub food like fish&chips or prawn cocktail with soy sauce! There is also an amusement park that includes five different rides such as a Log Flume ride (which goes all around!), Six Flags America's Tower of Terror roller coaster (#2 on USA Today’s list!), Carousel!, Kiddie Kingdom Train Park with three train tracks - one featuring air time balls that kids can bounce! In addition to all this fun there are also several public parks within walking distance including: North Central Park has baseball diamonds/stadium complex with golf courses next door; South Central Park has tennis courts/ playground; East Side Meadow provides opportunities for nature hikes/runs; Huron Creek Preserve offers opportunities for bird watching/camping; nearby Willowbrook State Forest offers hiking trails through beautiful oak woodland while adjacent White Sands State Recreation Area features beaches complete with toilets and showers!.
