Armadillo Ammo was founded in 1969 by John and Cindy Armadillo. The first product was a .22LR rifle ammo. It was called the "Armadillo" because it had a green propellant that made it difficult to identify but allowed for accurate shot placement. In 1977, they introduced their own version of the 9mm pistol ammunition using copper-cased rounds with an olive drab primer. This ammunition became popular among law enforcement and target shooters due to its consistency and accuracy. In 1992, they produced their first airsoft round, the Rattle Ball Bearcat. This round is designed to simulate a real cartridge such as the Winchester Model 70 or Remington 800 rounds used in airsoftguns. In 1995, they produced their first shotgun ammo, the Superformance Tactical Shotgun Ammunition. This ammo is composed of jacketed hollowpoints with copper Berkley bullets that create an intense muzzle flash when fired from a shotgun barrel. It has become one of Windsor's most popular shotguns because of its consistent performance and low price point

The City of Windsor was founded in 1851 by James W. Richardson as a town on the western edge of what is now Fresno County, California. The name was changed to Windsor in 1852 because of the proximity of Ontario, Canada. In 1875, the city was annexed by Fresno and became part of that city's government. In 1911, the city passed an ordinance barring public intoxication and replaced "Municipal" with "City" in its name to indicate its status as a separate entity from Fresno. In 1916, the California State Legislature divided Kern County into two regions, one including Windsor and the other including Madera. The City of Windsor voted to secede from Kern County and become an independent municipality under its own governance. In 1934, the City Council passed an ordinance prohibiting discrimination against citizens based on race or national origin in all aspects of municipal life. This ordinance remains In force today. In 1964, Windsor became an unincorporated community within Fresno County after being designated as such by then-Governor Jerry Brown pursuant to Order No. 810-64 which designates communities within certain counties for unincorporated status if their populations size does not exceed 50 residents out of a total population greater than 750 residents within those counties when measured at July 1st data point nearest thereto (the date that would have been had they been incorporated). At that time there were no cities or towns located within Fresno County other than those specifically designated pursuant to Order No. 810-64
Windsor was founded in 1871 by Joseph Windsor, a British immigrant. The town quickly became a thriving center for the agricultural industry, and its Name Day is celebrated annually to this day. In 1915, the town expanded into what is now the downtown area with the construction of the first municipal building. In 1948, Windsor-on-the-Lake was incorporated as a village. In 1955, it became an unincorporated community when all of its residents voted to secede from Windsor proper. The community's only residents are those who live in the annexed areas of Windsor-on-the-Lake and Northville.
