Wildomar is a small town in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 3,814 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Pasadena-Hollywood-Highland neighborhood. The name Wildomar comes from the Spanish word "wildo" meaning "lawn", and "marca" meaning "mark". The first known settler in what is now Wildomar was Juan Rodríguez who arrived around 1769. By 1824 there were about 25 people living in Wildomar. In 1868, John Fenton platted the town on land that he had bought from José Garza for $6 per acre. During World War II, much of Wildomar was destroyed by bombing raids from Air Force bombers because much of agricultural production support military functions such as ammunition dumps and radar installations. The only resident still living in Wildomar at the time of the 2010 census was Jeanne Addams; she died on October 31st, 2013 at age 91 years old after a long life spent caring for her grandson John Addams Sr., also an 86 year old resident of Wildomar. In 1951 actor/director Jay Roach moved to Wildomar with his wife Mildred Dunnock and their two children after they divorced near Hollywood Hills. They founded Roach Communications which became one of Southern California's most prominent television companies during its heyday in the 1960s and 1970s before moving into online media ownership beginning in 2007 when it merged with AltaVista Incorporated (later AOL). In addition to its many accomplishments within entertainment industry circles, Roach Communications also built an iconic brick building at 255 Main Street (now used as office space) which served as home to some of his earliest employees including music composer Phillip Glass and movie editor Joe Dante

The town of Wildomar, California was founded in 1849 by the brothers John and George Goodwin. The town became a post office in 1850, and it opened its first store on December 12th of that year. In 1854, the Goodwin brothers erected a sawmill in what is now Wildomar. The mill continued to be operational until 1922. In 1865, the town's first school was built. A second school was built in 1902 and it served as the town's central library from 1923 until 1984 when it closed its doors due to budget cuts. The Wildomar Post Office building still stands today and is used as a community center. Throughout its history, Wildomar has been a popular tourist destination for people from all over the United States. In 1916,Wildomar won an award from the American Postal Service for its contributions to mail delivery within California. In 1950, Wildomar became official designated City ofWildomar when it passed a vote by city councilmembers rejecting annexation by nearby Carlsbad while reaffirming ties with Carlsbad through municipal services such as firefighting and police protection. It wasn't until 1978 that wildOMAR officially changed its name to Wildomar after merging with neighboring towns of Carlsbad and Tomales Bayou which had also rejected annexation requests by their cities (though they maintain postal service communication). With population growth throughout most of last century combined with limited development (just 3 businesses were opened up in 1990), many residents began calling for changes including annexing adjacent communities Tomales Bayou and Carlsbad proper-although this never happened due to opposition from those municipalities present at city meetings at which time their interests would have been outweighed by those of wildOMAR%. Today, wildOMAR continues to provide essential civic services such as firefighting (currently handled by San Diego County firefighters) law enforcement (currently provided through Sheriff’s Department deputies) water management (usually handled by pumping stations operated jointly between both counties) waste disposal (handling raw sewage generated during local agriculture operations) street cleaning/repair/maintenance along with other extra-curricular activities unique to our community like cultural events hosted each summer at various locations around our peninsula
Wildomar, California was founded in 1876 by prospectors John Wesley Powell and Augustus Saint Germain. It became a mining town in the early years of the 20th century, but declined after gold was discovered at Sinkhole Creek in 1903. The town returned to growth during World War II as a munitions plant, but saw its heyday in the 1950s and 1960s when itboomed as a bedroom community for most of Southern California. The population decreased steadily thereafter until 2000 when it peaked at 13,000 residents and then slowly declined due to population loss associated with rapid technological change.
