In West Hollywood, California, the gun industry has long been a major player in the city. In fact, it is one of the most heavily populated areas in Los Angeles County and its economy is based largely on the sale and use of firearms. In 1949, The GunShop merged with another popular handgun retailer named J&B Firearms to form George Wesson & Co., Incorporated (GWCO). GWCO was very busy during World War II; however, due to wartime restrictions on ammunition sales, GWCO failed to achieve significant success during that time period. It wasn't until 1951 that GWCO emerged as a major player within the handgun industry after purchasing several smaller companies including American Pistol Company (APC) and Harpoon Arms Corporation (HARPOON). Although GWCO initially struggled against competition from larger players such as Colt Action Arms Company (CALIBER), it eventually achieved success under chairman emeritus George Wesson's leadership by becoming one of the largest firearms retailers in America with 2 million square feet of floor space across six stores located throughout Southern California plus an additional 300 acres leased for future development totaling 1 million square feet total! Following chairwoman Barbara Pierce's death in 1984 following aLong Island car accident which left her husband paralyzed below his shoulder blade,[1] succession went into question until 1993 when then-CEO Rick Steves announced his candidacy for CEO position but was defeated by current CEO Donny Maloof who would later succeed Steves as Chairman Emeritus! After several years of discussion among top executives at GWco about who should succeed Maloof as CEO,[2] it ultimately came down to Rick Steves who would serve out his term until he was succeeded by interim CEO Bob D'Angelo! Finally effective control over GWco reverted back to Rick Steve upon D'Angelo's retirement in 2002! DuringRick Steves's tenure at GWco there were numerous changes made to how business operated; some which are still remembered today include: "TheRick steves Team" became known for their aggressive marketing strategy which aimed to build brand awareness amongst consumers via print media such as Parade Magazine[3] while also utilizing digital channels such as YouTube channel[4] along with social media platforms like Facebook[5] Additionally they developed "TheRickstevesStore", an online store that offered competitive prices on items unavailable anywhere else while also employing tight inventory management techniques so customers could always find what they were looking for quickly! This strategy helped make GWco one of the most successful firearms retailers ever!!"

Preliminary proceedings were held in April 1865 but no action was taken until November 14, 1865 when incorporation was approved by an executive committee composed of mayor James Wirt and members of the Board of Commissioners. On December 12, 1865, West Hollywood became a full-fledged city with Wirt as its first mayor and eight commissioners serving staggered four-year terms beginning on January 1st each year

In 1925–1926 Don Siegel filmed "The Jazz Singer" at Paramount Pictures Studios on Western Ave., now part of UCLA campus; this made West Hollywood one of the few places in America outside of New York City that saw live sound films before they were outlawed in 1933 by the National Broadcasting Corporation's regulation of radio spectrum as part of their “ Coordinated Policy” program under Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal order.). In addition to "The Jazz Singer," other major films shot there during those years include "Citizen Kane" (1941) starring Orson Welles and Lana Turner; "The Three Musketeers" (1957) with Peter Sellers as Lazlo Karpatkin; "A Place for Us" (1959) with Dean Martin; "" (1960) with Elvis Presley; "Pink Panther" series beginning production in 1968-1969 directed by John Lee Hooker at Pinewood Studios near London Circus
