This lead to other publications followed such as: “The Gunsmith” (1924), “Hodge Rifle & Pistol Review”(1935), “Captain Harold Hodge’s Sporting News/Open Forum Bulletin”(1945), “Hawkeye Firearms Inc./GUNS AND SHOOTING RANGE NEWSLETTER/PISTOLS NEWSLETTER/SHOTGUNS NEWSLETTER/RIFLEMANSHIP NEWSLETTER/MILITARY RADIO PROGRAMMING FROM WEST COVINA / OPEN forum bulletin / COMMENTARY CALLS / INTERVIEWS WITH COLONELS / ARTICLES ABOUT HUNTING AND SPORTSMEN / ETC. etc., until eventually all guns magazines were consolidated into one large publication called THE GUN MAGAZINE! This single publication became an essential source of information for anyone who wanted to purchase a firearm in this rapidly evolving society! It continued to be edited by Bob Towsley until his death in 2006; thereafter succession passed through his son John Towsley Jr.(2007-present). In 2018, THE GUN MAGAZINE announced an exciting new direction - expanding its reach beyond just California into Oregon and Nevada!
