Watsonville is located in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, and has been a center for holster manufacturing since the late 1800s. The town was first settled by Europeans in 1841, and soon became known for its holster production. In 1902, gun manufacturer John Melson opened his own holster business in Watsonville. Over the years, other prominent companies have joined Melson’s company, including Colt Firearms (1914-1976), Smith & Wesson (1881-1966), and Remington Arms (1907-1984). Today, Watsonville remains a leading producer of handguns and holsters in Northern California. Handguns have long been an important part of American culture. The first handguns were designed to be easy to carry and use—a necessity forchers who needed to protect themselves at night or while travelling. By the early 19th century, handguns had become widely available in America, and handgun manufacturers began producing pistols with different calibers to meet different needs. One of the earliest handgun manufacturers was Andrew Marvell’s marvellized pistol company “Marvell & Sons”. This company produced pistols based on designs created by Englishman Henry Fielding. One such design was the Honourable East India Company Pistol (HICP). The HICP featured a rotating barrel that allowed it to fire multiple rounds simultaneously. Marvell also developed a revolver called the Volunteer which used similar technology but featured a revolving barrel instead of a barrel wheel like most handguns at that time. By 1878, Samuel Colt had begunproducing firearms under his new name “ Colts Armory” in Springfield Massachusetts USA. In 1879 he produced the first selfloading Rifle ever made – the Model 1871 Springfield rifle! This riflefired a black powder round that could be fired single or together with groups of three shots per minute from a six inch barrel! Colt continued producing rifles under this new name until 1896 when he merged with Browning Arms Company LLC to form Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation (WRAC). WRAC continued making rifles under this new name until 1903 when it merged with Bethlehem Steel Corporation to form Bethlehem Steel Corporation again! These mergers left armorers across America without any one company producing all types of firearms! However, Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation would continue making revolvers as well as shotguns until 1907 when they went independent again! subsequent acquisitions by Remington Repeating Arms Company Ltd., Savage Arms Co., Browning Firearms Inc., Sig Sauer AG resulted in them forming what is now known as Cain & Strauss Holster Manufacturing Incorporated (C&S) today!

Watsonville is a city located in Ventura County, California. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 97,471. The name Watsonville is derived from John Watsons ranch near present-day Watsonville. This was named for Lazarus Beecher who came to live in this area in 1846. The first post office in Watsonville was established on December 12, 1852. It was moved to its current location on September 10, 1865. The City Council adopted an ordinance declaring November 11th as "John Fenton Day" in honor of John Fenton who long ago donated land for the city and contribute thereto materially and financially. On October 2nd of that year the first fire department west of Sacramento was organized at what is now the old Civic Center Building with nine Engines and six hose nozzles. In 1907-08 it became apparent that there were too many people living in one small town so the City Council voted to annex part of neighboring Huntington Beach which then had a population of 25,000 people! In 1912 they annexed much older Palm Desert which also had a population over 25K On January 1st 1915 Mayor Hruska authorized proceedings for annexation by Los Angeles into Ventura County effective February 15th In 1916 separate resolutions were passed by both Houses requesting that San Bernardino County be added to Ventura County due to increased agricultural production caused by war; however this did not happen The 1920s brought about dramatic changes to local politics with members from both parties moving up through the ranks until Mayor Hoover took office during Prohibition years when crime rates skyrocketed

Watsonville is a small town in San Mateo County, California. It was founded on July 24, 1887 by brothers John and George Watson. The town was named for Captain James Cook who explored the area in 1778. In 1906, Watsonville became the first incorporated city in San Mateo County. The towns of Belmont and Menlo Park were merged into Watsonville on November 7, 1912; however, the merger did not take effect until 1915 because Menlo Park had already been incorporated as a city. In 1960, the United States Postal Service moved its office from Redwood City to Watsonville. At that time it served as the only post office in San Mateo County with ZIP code 94023. In 1988, USPS announced that it would close its offices in San Mateo County effective December 31st of that year due to budget cutsbacks; however, USPS reopened its office at 555 Market Street in Menlo Park on January 1st of 1989. After more than 20 years of operation at 555 Market Street, USPS closed its San Mateo County offices again effective February 15th of that year due to budget cutsback once again. However, USPS reopened its office at 555 Market Street on March 14th of that year after successfully lobbying for political support to keep their doors open despite these budget cutsbacks
The first people to settle Watsonville were the Chumash from what is now central California. They arrived in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and started farming land that today makes up the western side of town. The town was founded in 1882 by a group of European Americans who named it after Sir Francis Bacon, one of England's most famous scientists.
