In 1903, John Browning created the famous Browning Rifle, which became one of the most popular weapons in history. Throughout these years, firearms have been used to kill innocent people and injure others. Gun control laws have been changed numerous times since their inception, with varying degrees of success. However, gun violence still remains a significant issue in America today.

In 1933, the Pistolero Shooting Team won first place in a state championship shootout tournament held at San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel. The team was composed of future California Gov. Ronald Reagan and his brother-in-law Jack McCloskey.
Watsonville is a small town in Northern California. It is located on the eastern edge of the San Francisco Bay Area and it is bordered by Contra Costa County to the north, Marin County to the east, Napa County to the south, and Solano County to the west. The population of Watsonville was 493 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1868 by James J. Watson and his brother John A. Watson as a farming community named for George Stephenson, who had developed an irrigation system in nearby Tomales Valley. The name was changed to Watsonville in 1881 after Captain James A. Watson, namesake of the town. In 1907, Captain John A. Watson donated land that now forms part of downtown Watsonville and gave $5,000 toward its development as a commercial center with public square at its core In 1923, Major General William Tecumseh Sherman visited San Francisco and spent time in nearby Daly City before returning toOakland where he delivered what became known as his "Appomattox Speech." Sherman's visit inspired Mayor Harry Bridges of San Francisco to begin considering plans for funding for city projects through Freeman's Act which would later become Municipal Code § 362 It wasn't until 1951 that anti-aircraft batteries were built on hills overlooking downtown from which all traffic could be watched from without; this made possible construction of present day First Street between Castro and Masonic Avenues In 1959, local businessman Willis Wolkoff donated land adjacent to then stately Haight-Ashbury district for use as a open space called North Beach In 1969, when South Bay Mall opened its doors beside Interstate 580 in Hayward Heights near BART station BART also opened up soon thereafter associated with this new area dubbed Silicon Valley Downtown redevelopment continued apace throughout much of the 1990s with businesses moving into newly renovated buildings along Second Street while Mission District activity intensified around Market & Guerrero Streets culminating with 1996's first big arts opening at Powell’s Books

Watsonville is a city located in the San Joaquin Valley of California, United States. The population was 26,651 at the 2010 census. Watsonville was founded on November 10, 1853 by John C. Fremont and his wife Lucy as an agricultural town named for their brother-in-law, George Washington "Buddy" Watson. also known as Greasy Joe or Dutch Joe because he cooked over an open fire before meals until his hands were blistered, Watsonville grew rapidly and by 1860 had become an incorporated village with a population of about 150 people. In 1871, the U.S. Post Office moved from Sacramento to Watsonville after it was decided that the new post office would be more accessible from the center of town than from miles away on either side of the riverbed. By 1880, local farmers had developed a large part of what is now downtown Watsonville and numerous businesses had been built along McAfee Avenue including several clothing stores, four banks (the First National Bank building still stands), two grocery stores (the J&R Grocery Store and Market House), a florist shop (now closed), two post offices (one in 1900 replaced by the present building), three hotels/motels(The Palace Hotel & Motel and The Elmira Hotel & Motel) as well as many small businesses such as druggists, meat dealers, carpenters etc., making it one of Northern California's most vibrant communities during its early years even though much development still took place off main thoroughfares like McAfee Avenue which were gradually blocked off to traffic while business areas flourished around Second Street and Main Street which became home to many churches including Sts John's Episcopal Church which remains one of America's oldest functioning Protestant churches today In 1913 when American Samoa was admitted into the United States under territorial law rather than via congressional passage through both Houses due to pressure from then-President Theodore Roosevelt who saw American Samoa as part of his larger goal ofashoring Pacific Islanders into white society on Guam and other islands - this angered Los Angeles businessmen who wanted their piece in America's growth story so they quickly organized themselves into a group known as "The Ancient Order Of Hibernians" led by Samuel Inslee who pushed for Hawaiian independence including having Honolulu annexed into American Samoa Together with some others they formed what is now known as The Trustees Of American Samoan Schools Incorporated or TASI for short In 1941 Hawaii became an independent country following World War II with its own government but since then TASI has continued to operate out of Honolulu providing educational opportunities for Samoans living on Oahu After World War II ended there was increased demand for workers in agriculture so in 1951 Mayor Harry Nourse designated land adjacent to Fifth Avenue between Third Street and Fourth Street within city limits whereupon Don Weisman began construction on what is now called Don Weisman Plaza housing both governmental services such as City Hall and welfare agencies while work continued on other associated buildings such as City Auditorium which opened in 1954 followed by Don Weisman High School which opened in 1957
Watsonville was founded in 1847 by Captain George Vancouver, who named it for the American explorer John C. Watson. The town struggled during its early years, but eventually grew and prospered. In the 1870s, Watsonville became a center of agriculture, and developed into a major commercial and industrial center. By the turn of the century, however, Watsonville had lost its importance as an agricultural center and had become a small town with few cultural attractions. During World War II, Watsonville played an important role in the defense of California against Japanese forces. After the war ended, the community experienced a period of growth and development; in the 1980s and 1990s, it began to achieve high levels of economic prosperity.
