The Victorville massacre happened on December 14, 1958, when a group of white farmers in the town of Victorville, California killed four black farmworkers. The murders were investigated by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and open-case file #8689 was opened. The four workers had been working for the Agricultural Implement Company, which was owned and operated by white farmers. The company had been contracted to deliver goods to a black family that lived in nearby Spring Valley. When they failed to show up for work that day, the farmer's wife went looking for them. As she walked outside their home, she saw four men coming out of the house with rifles. She called out to them, but they shot her and three of her children dead. One man then turned around and started shooting at the other three men before he himself was shot dead by one of the farmers. Investigators determined that there was no robbery or conspiracy involved in the killings; instead, it was an act of random murder motivated by revenge against those who had wronged them. This crime is still considered one of America's most heinous crimes against humanity due to its senselessness and extreme violence perpetrated against unarmed civilians without any justification or reason beyond anger or resentment
